Before the JAM kiss in casino night, what were the scenes that you just had to keep watching over and over? Mine were:
Excellent thread! One of my favorite rewind moments is a "Jim look," in Basketball, after Michael tells him not to act "too gay on the court." Best reactionary Jim face ever! I think I once watched it like 10x (so easy to do on DVD!)

On the commentary from season 1, J.Kras says that Steve improv-ed that line, and that his look was a real reaction.
The confession in "The Secret", hands down.
Also, Jim and Roy's confrontation in the warehouse (and make no mistake, it was confrontation on Roy's part) in "Boys and Girls".
Jim's response to Dwight in "The Alliance." Just three words: "Absolutely I do."
Pam's prancing in "Drug Testing." Priceless.
Oooh good thread! In addition to all that's mentioned AND of course every JAM moment, I LOVED the opening scene of The Carpet, where Jim keeps looking at Ryan taking Pam's spot.
"Jim's been looking at me kind of a lot, all week. I would be freaked out by it, but it's nothing compared to the way that Michael looks at me" (Michael peeping out from his blinds)
Oh I watched that scene OVER AND OVER AGAIN! Ryan's facial expression and his delivery of the line, and then Michael's stare...CLASSIC! And then of course the ending of The Carpet was rewound many a times. Pam's messages playing while Jim's getting in his car and leaving, him smiling as he thinks about the messages. It was too sweet.

Yes!! I totally love that scene!! I love the Michael-Ryan tension.
I watched the list of Jim's pranks from Conflict Resolution over and over again. It's bittersweet but hilarious, which kind of sums up Jim's character.
I find most scenes in The Injury require multiple viewings. Ryan and Toby's reaction to Michael falling in the bathroom, and Jim with the spray bottle are stand outs.
I think it's a testiment to the writing and acting on this show when the episodes are still side-splittingly funny after 20x viewings.
I think that the confession and kiss from Casino Night have everything else beat, even though it's only been two days. I used to watch the Dundies - scenes with Jim noticing Pam watching the old tapes, convincing Michael to come up with a new award for her, the kiss, the staring and falling off the stool, and walking to Angela's car - I've seen those a zillion times.... but I think in the last two days alone, I have recapped the finale even more times than that. September is soooo far away.
The ones named are all classics and I completely agree, especially poignant JAM scenes like Booze Cruise, The Secret, etc... I usually start with every intention of seeking out particular funny moments, but after two or three laughs, I always end up rewinding the whole episode and watching it from the beginning. It's amazing how one can watch repeatedly and never get tired of it. It's as funny upon the 20th viewing as it is the 1st.
"No cookie" and especially Ryan's reaction.
And directly after that when Jim and Pam are shopping. Jim puts fabric softener in the cart. I must've watched the look on Pam's face and the short dialog about 50 times.
I love watching the scene in Michael's Birthday when Pam gets on the loud speaker, 'such a dork'!
Denise
Ryan -- something like, "If I wanted to, I could clean out my desk in five minutes, and then it'd be like I'd never been here ... and I'd forget, too."
Also, in "The Client," Michael shouting nonsense words and blaming it on Jan. :)
I'm re-watching Season 2 from iTunes, so I apologize for the repeated posting, but I love it:
"Peach iced tea. You're gonna hate it." (from "The Secret" when Stanley gets in the way of Michael and Jim's "hang-out" by the vending machines.)
This morning I watched all of S01, in order. I've been so busy with S02 that I needed a refresher.
S01 comments:
In Hot Chick:
Jim does not talk to Purse Girl until Roy and Pam play and giggle right on his desk and he is made to feel very uncomfortable.
Pam is visibly disturbed that Jim has a Date with Katie, even though earlier in her talking head she mentions that she hopes Jim finds someome nice someday.
Pam gets caught by the camera putting on lipstick after Jims revelation about the date, a clear indicator she is jealous and wants to be more attractive like Katie.
In The Alliance:
In Performance Review, I always lose it during the scene where Dwight is in the stairway pumping himself up for his evaluation. There is something about the way he screams "I am awesome!" and throws himself on the wall that always gets to me. I don't know how many times I have watched that.
Performance Review:
Michael: Pam, you are trustworthy.
Pam: Thank you.
Michael: And a woman.
Pam: Oh, no.
Such an awesome mood shift as she knows something bad is about to happen.
Similar occurence in Valentine's Day when Kelly approaches Ryan in the Vending Machine Room.
Jim: Oh... no, not while I'm here.
Take Your Daughter to Work Day
Toby: Okay, I wasn't expecting that.
And finally, Michael's Birthday, the whole PA system scene, but particularly:
Jim: How old are you?
Pam: I hate you.
Ryan crushing up the aspirin and sneaking it into Michael's pudding in "The Injury."
"It's how I get my dog to take his heart-worm medicine."
And, in Ryan's mockingly surprised and soothing tone: "No, the gas station in Carbondale did not have any fresh yams."
Obviously the Booze Cruise silence. I could watch "The Dundies" everyday for the rest of my life. The upset Chilis manager, Pam staring drunkenly at JIm, "i can feel God in this Chilis tonight." Brilliant. And the stuff in Meredith's van in "The Injury." And..... oh just all of it.
Halloween genius- the conversation between Dwight and Michael regarding who Michael's paper mache head thought should be fired, "No Michael, not me."
"QUIET YOU!!!!" The Sith Lord thing was sooo good.
Michael Scott, here. Yes I am Regional Manager of this or-fice Mmhm. Dwight Schrute! is amazing. Yeah, no. He is the single greatest employee of his generation. I'm gonna tell you what. You hire Dwight K. Schrute. And he does not meet, nay, EXCEED everyone of your wildest expectations. Well then you can hold me, Michael Gary Scott, both personally and financially responsible. Okay, okay, kay, kay, kay, kay.
threeholepunched your post made me laugh out loud for several minutes! That WAS a classic. Now I want to watch that ep.
at that moment I was so happy, everything Dwight does annoys me. I spend hours to think of ways to get back at him, but only in ways that would get me arrested. But here he comes and says 'no Jim, here's a way'"
oh had to add another one, clearly i'm on a mini Office marathon
I'm the king of forwards, it's how I like to do business. We're like friends. I'm like Chandler and Joey. Pam is Rachel...and Dwight is...Kramer
That little girl is a child! I don’t want see you sniffing around her anymore this afternoon, do you understand? Boy, have you lost your mind, cause I’ll help you find it, whatcha looking for, ain’t nobody gonna help you out there, Jesus could come through that door, he’s not going to help you, if you don’t stop sniffing after my child!
Besides the JAM scenes from casino night, this is probably the scene I watched over and over the most. I was so shocked it was hilarious. I'm so used to seeing Stanley so calm. The timing was perfect. Yes this very much was a breakout moment for Stanley.
from The Client:
The rooftop 'first date' featuring Jim's famous grilled cheese sandwiches....
Maybe nobody will see this as funny, but I always watch the scene in "Boys and Girls" where Michael and Jan are arguing over Michael getting downstairs to tell the warehouse folks that unionizing is a terrible idea. After Jan sternly says, "Michael, don't say another word. Get yourself downstairs," the look on Pam's face cracks me up. Watch it morph from mockery to "I better not react to them" in a way. Watch it until the scene ends. C'mon everyone, fire up the Tivos (it's about 20 minutes into the episode - including commercials).
Edit: Another favorite, in "The Alliance" when Michael asks about Oscar's nephew and Oscar replies that last year he walked 18 miles, Micheal returns with a quick "Son of a bitch! ....... That is impressive. Good for him."
