Hey, I don't know if anyone has this thread up yet. I was just wondering if anyone knows when the webisodes will start.

May 15th 2006

I would like to know as well!

May 16th 2006

I'm waiting to hear too. I'm sure it won't be until June, though. Well, not sure. But that's my guess.

I really want to know why Roy is supposed to be in them, though. How can we have him show up without dealing with the wedding? Maybe the webisodes (aren't there going to be 10, 2-minute ones?) all take place right after Casino Night and before the wedding. Maybe it will only take a few days in Office time for the accounting team to solve the mystery. Then we wouldn't necessarily have to deal with the wedding and Roy being in the webisodes.

In any case, I'm excited that NBC is doing this. I don't know if the general audience will be hopping onto NBC's site to check it out, but the die-hard fans will be, that's for sure. Maybe NBC is doing something nice for us crazy fans, since we're the ones promoting the show by getting our friends and family (who normally wouldn't go for this type of humor) to watch it? Don't know, don't care. Just happy it's going to happen!

May 16th 2006

Are the webisodes going to be free? I haven't looked into them much, so I don't know...

May 16th 2006

This is from "Ausiello Report" from tvguide.com where he talks about the NBC presentation of their fall line-up. He mentions a little bit of webisode stuff here, but doesn't really answer our question

  • The casts of The Office and My Name Is Earl appeared on stage and explained what it meant to them to be a part of NBC's storied Thursday-night lineup. I don't recall any of their specific lines, but trust me when I say their shtick was the highlight of the nearly three-hour presentation. On a lesser note, we caught a preview of the first Office webisode, slated to debut this summer exclusively on NBC.com, and it landed like a thud with the advertiser-heavy crowd. The plot centered around the accounting staff trying to track some missing funds. I think I'll take a pass on the webisodes and stick to the real thing.

What really annoys me is when people write about the show but only watch the show casually. I'm sure if he's a fan of the show, he would appreciate the supporting cast and their sort of subtle comedy. I can see how the advertisers might be hesitant towards sponsoring the webisodes, since it lacks the bigger stars. But I'm sure once it starts in the summer and the live streaming is taking up all of nbc.com's broadband because us die hard fans can't wait to watch these episodes, they'll jump to stream their ads too.

Here is the original press release from NBC. It clearly states that David Denman will be in the webisodes. Hmmm...interesting since Jenna said Pam, Jim, and Michael will not be in the webisodes b/c of the finale storyline.

Just bumping the thread as a friendly reminder that these start tomorrow!

Can't wait!

I don't know exactly when they went up, but I just watched the first two webisodes at NBC.com, and they were very funny, at least as funny as anything could be in a few minutes time. I am just glad to see some new material of any kind from our beloved office, and am anxious to see where this goes.

Phyllis wheeling away from accounting: Priceless

Jul 13th 2006

I went to NBC.com but I couldn't find any link to get the Webisode. Can you tell us how to watch it, or post a link?

Jul 13th 2006

Oh, I found it. Here's the link. I hope it works for you.

I have to say that Phyllis always steals the show. I really love Kevin's back-and-forth eyes, Oscar's quiet exasperation and Angela's pinched expressions, but Phyllis trumps them all. I don't know how no one discovered her before this show. She's brilliant.

So who do you think took the money? And for what?

Jul 13th 2006

Andy the Cat had a theory that Roy might be stealing. He came up with some pretty good evidence. So, Roy?

Jul 13th 2006

It's possible that they won't be able to figure it out, or that there is a legitimate excuse for it being missing. If someone was caught stealing $3000 they'd be fired immediately, right? And it's been announced everyone (including Roy I believe) is coming back for S3. So it may end up like the joint in Drug Testing, a lot of investigative work but no conclusion.

Jul 13th 2006

I thought the first one was okay, they were obviously just setting up the story. I thought the second one was hilarious, especially the bit at the end with Kevin. (I don't want to spoil)

Jul 13th 2006

Hey, Everyone! I've just finished watching "The Books Don't Balance", Webisode 1 and am waiting to watch Webisode 2, the more Phyllis-centric one (darn this dial-up).

I definitely am thinking that Roy is stealing. I laid out my thoughts on it here. I can list the points I made here if anyone thinks it might be good to have them over here.

Oh, and just on a completely off-topic side note? Plaid, I'm a girl. ;o>

Jul 13th 2006

I saw on the Roy thread that people were mentioning that 'we' would assume that the person stealing would be Creed or Toby. Creed is understandable to me but why Toby? I must have missed something.

Jul 13th 2006

It's possible that they won't be able to figure it out, or that there is a legitimate excuse for it being missing.

I agree Jenna Loves Josh that there will be a legitimate excuse for it being missing. Or maybe Kevin didn't recheck his books a 3rd time & it really isn't missing.

I don't think it will be Michael or Creed though.

I found the direct links to the webisodes for anyone who wants to save them to their computers. (Save Target As) Webisode 1, Webisode 2.

You can open them with FLV Player

Jul 13th 2006

I suppose I should be more clear, if I wasn't in the comment from the Roy thread.

I don't necessarily think that Roy is the one who stole this particular money. I wouldn't even go so far as to say Roy has stolen any money - which is why I was a little hesitant to put my previous comments here.

But I do think that Roy has stolen something. What has he stolen? I'm not sure of that one yet.

Jul 13th 2006

Andy the Cat If I'm not mistaken, you told me on another post that you were a guy. I apoligize if that was someone else. But , right now I'm not sure if you're not just messin' with me. I'm going to have to go back and find that post to see who wrote it.

Jul 13th 2006

Andy the Cat

I officially apoligize. I just read your bio on Occupations and I can see that you are female. Sorry. Who the heck was I thinking of?

Jul 13th 2006

Maybe it's too obvious, but the first thing I thought of when I heard the plot for the webisodes was that Michael's $3,000 Christmas bonus was given to him in error or was not recorded.

Jul 13th 2006

Plaid, it's absolutely not a big deal. No apologies necessary. All's good.

JasonF, very good point. I had always just assumed the bonus came straight Corporate, though, since no one else in the office knew.

Kevin was really counting on that gig with Pam's wedding. Maybe the wedding didn't happen, so Creed (Creed steals,) and Kevin (kevin has access) stole the money to start their own band. They are both musicians. I'm sure Kevin intends to return it as soon as he can.

Angela and Oscar didn't tell Kevin about the missing money. He found out about it at the same time we did. Maybe if Kevin knew that the missing money had been discovered, he probably would have done something to get it back on the books, but now it's too late.

I'm just thinking that Kevin at least only intends to "borrow" the money.

You know, I was only going to post this as a joke, but the more I think about it, I think it is a likely scenario. As likely as any other possibilities so far.

Only two more days till the next one!

Jul 20th 2006

Meredith has a daughter? Is this new or can I just not remember that being disclosed earlier?

Jul 20th 2006

CTF, Well I think they did this to explain why in one or two episodes it is stated that Merideth has 2 kids, but in one or two other episodes it is stated that she only has one. I'm so glad they cleared that mystery up. hehe. Poor Merideth.

Jul 21st 2006

Is it just me, or does Angela seem a little weird in the webisodes? Why is she straight out accusing everyone? She seems to have gone a little bit "blonde" (I hope that's not offensive to anyone!) with that whole speech to Kevin about the upper hand etc...

Maybe it's just me...
