Forget everything you thought you knew about ab workouts.
I love this episode for so many reasons. Jim popping Dwight's annoying "fitness orb" with his scissors, was definitely one of the funniest moments in the history of television. If you look closely, you can see Jim's (John's) reaction to popping the ball. From the laughter, I think the cast and crew almost busted their collective guts during this scene.
Also, the Homer Simpson doll that always sits in the center of the room is turned upside down during this entire episode.
Man, I love this show!
I'm with Lori. I think this is the most underrated episode. Solid from start to finish. The suggestion box conference room meeting comes to mind.
"That guy was weird." "Maybe I should take the stairs, because talk about stank!" "Do you think this is refering to you boning Jan?"
Wow, there are only three posts for this episode? I love watching Jim eat in this episode. Spoon.
PPB I most definitely went to watch Performance Review after reading your entry. Ditto on the spoon. I forgot which thread but someone mentioned that for some reason hot men look great eating food with a spoon, citing Brad Pitt from Oceans 11. I always thought it was kind of odd but sexy of Brad Pitt's character to be eating throughout the movie, then Jim with his jello and fruit cups is very adorable. I just never put the 2 and 2 together until I read it on the forum. Ahh the spoon.... it must be some sort of Freudian thing.
This is a great episode. Was supposed to be aired 8th in Season 2, making it "Client, Fight, and Performance Review" in that order. For some reason, it was switched and that's why the episodes seem a bit jumbled. Fight: Jim and Pam fight and make up. But she's a bit pissed at him already, it seems. It makes sense if this episode aired after the Client, when Jim made his illadvised "we had a date" move. uncomfortable-->pushing it too far-->making up--> performance review, everything is back to normal.
Watching this on TBS right now and I've never wanted to be a spoon so much more than after watching this episode.
eta: yes, I know. Add me to the NA perv list now

This is how I feel about the Pilot. I guess my screen name here will be as close as I ever get.

Have faith, my man. I'm sure she'll come to Sydney to promote Walk Hard.
I forgot just how much I liked this episode. It's in my Top 5, and I didn't really even know it. Crazy.

Interesting. How so, Dwayne Fart Poop? It's sexy to see Jim eat with a spoon because of spooning?

That's exactly what I realized, BTF, 10 months later. I didn’t realize how much I love Performance Review until I rewatched.
The scene where Jim gets Dwight to say tomorrow is Saturday and Jim is eating pudding. Dwight says, “duh” and Jim’s “duh” is right on top of his.
When Jan walks in, Michael tries to kiss her on the hand, then puts his hand on her boob.
Michael talking to Jan before she leaves. Jim is behind him listening and laughing.
Please don't smell me, Michael.
Jan talking directly to the camerman. Jan: Look, I know it's your job, I know you have to ask, but I promise you, I'm not gonna discuss it with him, I'm certainly not gonna discuss it with you. Do you have a light?
The scene with Pam and Jim in the break room. I thought it was especially interesting, with S3, that Jim says he doesn’t think you can ever come all the way back from liking someone, especially when working together.
Jim: Office romances. I think you should probably ask Pam 'cause she's in an office romance, technically. I assume he means Roy (that their relationship is only technically a romantic one), but does he?
And, Michael describing an office. It’s a single cell organism and they have to have a spine. He is the heart and the spine. Jan is the brain. The heart is smarter than the brain but the brain is so effing hot.
Here goes a better screencap that shows my point.
That goes out to you, VG, since you had to work today.
She is eating Mixed Berries. And all that that implies.
Maybe I should change my name to Pudding...
She is eating Mixed Berries.
And that's all I've ever wanted to hear. Well, since 2005 anyway.
Maybe I should change my name to Pudding...
Man, I could really go "too far" right now if I wanted to. Must...exercise...restraint!
But I hope you don't. First Brian? Now you? If everyone actually goes through with all these contemplated name-changes no one will know who they're posting to, and it could get really confusing! When will the madness stop!! :-)
I think I shall. I want to time it show-wise with when I got into the show or here.
When did you get into the show? When did you get here? (Northern Attack in general.)
