I think he said "when I get into the shower here" but it was a typo. It's still confusing.

I think Office Olympics was my first ep. It was the one that hooked me, anyway. I came here first in the first few weeks after Casino Night.

Have you looked through the screen name's thread, Bri?

Or perhaps in your butt?

Aug 11th 2008

You should change to Brian, Brian. You know, instead of your real name, you should change it to Kevin's real name.

Aug 11th 2008

That would be sooooo meta.

I just watched this episode last night, and I always forget how awesome it is. First of all, it starts with the fitness orb prank. Then, there's Jan's voice mail (I guess I missed you). The "Dwight thinks it's Friday, but it's really Thursday" business, and then the whole suggestion box meeting is absolute gold.

edit: also, Dwight pumping himself before he asks for his raise.

BECAUSE....I'm AWESOME!

"I really enjoy being judged. I believe I hold up very well to even severe scrutiny."

Also...

"The least you can do is keep my salary consistent with inflation! Hiyaaa!!"

Dec 16th 2008

I . . . had forgotten this episode even existed.

Michael: Pam, you're trustworthy.
Pam: Thank you.
Michael: And a woman.
Pam: Oh no.

Sometimes women say more in their pauses than they do in their words. Let's listen again, and this time pay attention to the pauses.
Wow, Stanley, that's frickin brilliant. Did you learn that on the street? ...Sorry...
No, that's all right, I did learn it on the street. On the ghetto.

I liked Dwight's proposal that Michael and Jan go to that lodge and enjoy the deer jerky, and Michael throwing it to Jan as a possible, actual idea.

"Is that hard for you?"
"When you have coffee breath it's hard."

it starts with the fitness orb prank.

I especially love John breaking because the orb wasn't supposed to pop. I rewind that part many, many times.

BECAUSE....I'm AWESOME!

I do this a lot of times when I am going up my stairs at my house and I pound the wall. My dogs think I'm crazy.

Other great things about that episode:

  • Jim. Is Jim. My name is Jim.
  • Last year, my performance review started with Michael asking me what my hopes and dreams were, and it ended with him telling me he could bench-press 190 pounds. So, I don't really know what to expect.
  • Jim: I'm not asking for a raise. I'm gonna actually be asking for a pay decrease.
Dwight: Uh, that is so stupid. What if he gives it to you?
    Jim: I win.
  • Do you think this is referring to you boning Jan?

Talk about stank.

I never knew this! I love finding out little tit bits like this. It gives me an excuse to rewatch old episodes. And you're absolutely right, it is hilarious!

Yeah, you can see him grab his mouth to cover his laugh and jump out of frame so that they don't have to cut and you can hear Jenna laugh, too. I think they mentioned it on a commentary or in an interview somewhere.

Dec 18th 2008

you can hear Jenna laugh

I always wondered who that was. You can catch a glimpse of Phyllis starting to laugh as she turns around.

Dec 18th 2008

Isn't the story that they had rehearsed it a few times and each time the air let out slowly so Dwight would slowly sink to the ground, but then when they filmed it John accidently hit a seam so it popped? I still think of that scene every time I'm in a gym and see one of those orbs.

Dec 18th 2008

From the commentary, Larry Wilmore said that the script called for the orb to slowly deflate, and that's what happened during filming -- except for one take where he hit the seam, and I think Larry said that Greg was disappointed that they spoiled a take, but Larry said, "No, this is even better!" Larry was right.

Wow! Those words are definitely going to be haunting Angela!

Dec 9th 2010

This is one of my top 3 favorite Dwight moments of all time.

Dec 9th 2010

I plan on doing that when my performance review comes up in April.

"Please don't smell me, Michael."

I miss that Jan. She didn't sing inappropriate lullabies. She was hardcore.

This was the episode where she started to go crazy.

Mar 16th 2011

I loved badass Jan.

This was the episode where she started to go crazy.

The baby shower episode was on the other night. I did not miss Jan when I watched that one. I miss the Jan from Casino Night, and earlier.
