I want to clamp Michael’s face in a George Foreman Grill.
Michael: Will you put butter on my foot?
Pam: No.
Michael: I have Country Crock.
BWAH!!!!!
"No, I didn't tell them that you cooked your foot."
This is my favorite episode to date ~ the one that solidified my status as a fan. Just when I thought it couldn't get funnier, Jim started spraying Dwight with the plant mister :-)
"No, the gas station in Carbondale did not have fresh yams!"
Even though I say that every episode is my favorite, this one really is my all-time favorite episode! I was laughing thoughout the entire thing! Every line uttered (or blubbered if it's Michael) is perfect!
I have it on my ipod and when I tried watching it at school before one of my classes I had to turn it off before the opening credits even started because it looked like I was having a seziure from laughing so hard. The images of Dwight coming out of his car and throwing up on his windshield, Jim spraying Dwight and Michael with the water bottle and Ryan's face when Michael needed to be "cleaned up" in the bathroom will forever be instilled in my memories!
...and what the heck is an iron lung?! Oh Creed!
Toby: Ryan is... dead.
Oh man. I heart this episode so much. I want to have, like, ten thousand of its babies. Note: I don't actually talk like this in real life. Honest.

Oh, you so do. When it comes to The Office, we are all silly, grinning monkeys in looooooove! :-D
Did anyone else notice that Jenna Fischer (Pam) is laughing (out of character) at Michael when he says "when I clamped my foot..."

It's frightening how giddy I get after watching two back-to-back episodes of The Office in prime time. It's almost like second drink.
Thoughts and observations after a second viewing:
Interesting choice by NBC to show these two episodes in the same night. Anyone who had never seen the show and decided to try it out last night was either hooked for life or so appalled they will never watch it again.
When they first show Michael on the couch in the conference room with Ryan his foot is completely out of proportion to the rest of his body. It looks like he not only has Gumby-like flexibility, but about a 45" inseam.
Ha! Nice post, Jenna Loves Josh. I concur with 14/15 of it. My one comment:
Was Jim a little jealous that Dwight & Pam were getting along so well? If so, that's pretty weak. Can't have it both ways Jim.
Dwight is Jim's nemesis. Pam has always been Jim's ally against Dwight. So yeah, he might be surprised and a little pissed if he thought she was going over to the dark side, yeah?
I think after the big Jaminess of the Booze Cruise, the first viewing of the Injury was a bit of a letdown. But seeing it away from all the angst of Jim's 27 seconds of silence, I have to totally re-evaluate it (plus, when it first aired I missed the foot-in-the-catscan moment because a relative called and I had to mute the TV to answer the call...argh. I should inform everyone not to call me from 9:30 to 10 on Thursday nights).
This is a great, great episode. A showcase not just for Michael, but for a concussed Dwight as well. His look at Creed when he says "Dad?" is priceless. There are a lot of belly laughs in this one, on a par with Diversity Day.
And I forgot to tape it...crap.
Anyway, The Injury is one of those episodes that gets better on the second viewing
The car scene was the best. Jim spraying Dwight and Michael was just too much. Also, Michael sticking his foot in during Dwight's scan. This episode is definately in my top 5.
garbagethrower, that fraction doesn't make sense.
I see what you mean regarding Jim/Pam/Dwight but he can't expect Pam and Dwight not to have some friendly small talk every once in a while. Her kind heart and sweet nature is part of what makes Pam so great, she can't be mean to him all the time. It makes me wonder if Jim will have a bit of a jealous streak when (if) he and Pam become a couple. Maybe I'm looking too much into it.

I think it's more of a single-person issue. "Everything Dwight does annoys me..." says Jim. And of course the writers have the teapot going to Dwight before Pam does her final swap in that episode, knowing that would absolutely kill Jim. So I still get Jim's bewilderment.
"I'm so tired of Chuck E. Cheese." This is such a bizarre line. So does that mean Michael goes there all time? Why? For the fine cuisine?
I think Michael frequents Chuck E. Cheese because of his genuine love of kids. Unfortunately for him, his intentions get misconstrued - like with his username for online dating: "littlekidluver."
We all know Michael wanted potential dates to know that he wants kids of his own someday, but then he is oblivious by selecting a username that gives the impression of being a pedophile.
The writers have shown us several instances of Michael loving kids - Take Your Daughter To Work Day, Michael's Birthday episode and even the conclusion of Halloween, where he just lights up when a bunch of children come to his door to trick-or-treat.
It's clear Michael Scott loves kids and wants kids of his own, but he usually puts himself in really weird situations, so I can totally see him showing up at Chuck E. Cheese on Friday nights and playing games with all the little kids while the moms sit at the tables nervously wondering who the strange, solo, adult male is.

Yep; I can see it too.
Just one more point about the Jim/Dwight feud; though Jim really can't stand Dwight, I noticed that he was the one most concerned with getting him to the hospital quickly when it became obvious that he needed medical attention. Yet another reason we love our Jim.
No surprise here, but our local NBC station did not air last night's fan-favorite episode. They aired a special about high school football. I will let you insert your own snarky remark here.
Just from what I remember, over the past couple months they have completely pre-empted three episodes and interrupted "Dwight's Speech" with a fantastically loud and frantic warning about an impending thunderstorm (it was already thundering, of course, so they missed that scoop). I am too annoyed to even write to them again; last time I just received a response letting me know that they are only "contractually obligated" to show a certain number of episodes, and they don't have to broadcast reruns at 2 am because they've already aired them once.
I am slamming my fists - many times - and waving my arms wildly in anger.
I have that MP3 player that Pam had, it is NOT indestructable, It has broken on me twice and I have since moved on to and Ipod. Also the real name for in is "Creative Zen Micro"
This has got to be my favorite episode.
Dwight: OK, see you later Pan. Pam:...Pan?
Gets me every time. I got the season 2 dvd and I watch this one and Drug Testing over and over.
This is also my favorite episode. The insanity begins the moment Pam answers the phone in the cold open and doesn't let up for 20 minutes and 30 seconds. No Jim/Pam angst, just pure wackiness.
The spray bottle is awesome. I love that Jim still has it when they're in the waiting room.
Don't forget "Vietnam sounds."
I re-watched this one the other day, and I had forgotten how funny the "Vietnam sound" thing was.
I think my favorite might be whole Ryan-is-dead plotline:
TOBY: Ryan is, uh . . . (cut to Ryan making a slashing motion across his throat) . . . dead.
MICHAEL: No he's not.
TOBY: (simultaneously) No . . . can't you just get up yourself?
And then a few minutes later, Michael comes out of the bathroom and says something about "Ryan, who was supposed to be dead." Gets me every time.
For me, it's the whole "sitting in the waiting room scene."
(Ha! Got 'em.)
This is an episode that gets better every time I see it. I think the initial low rating it got on fan's lists might have had to do with it following up "Booze Cruise" with absolutely no mention of Jim's confession. But with the passage of time, it's slowly inching up there, as a showcase for both Michael and Dwight.
My favorite line is the "bringing someone to the hospital" bit.
"Huggy hugs!" That one's good too. And how Jim has to start squirting Michael, as well as Dwight, in the van.
I saw this about six months before I ever saw Booze Cruise. Probably why it was among my top three favorites.
This episode might get knocked down a bit on the list of "best" episodes (although I think I put it in my top five) due to the lack of sweet moments between any characters (unless you count the huggy hugs). However, it is definitely one of the funniest episodes, if not the funniest.
(although I think I put it in my top five)
It's in my top three, so suck it.
But yeah, comedy-wise, I think it's the class of the series so far, and that's saying something.
