You may already know your WPM's but it's just fun to see how you do anyway...
Just for the record, I suck. 40 WPM's. In fact, it almost took me half an hour just to type this post.
Gross Speed: 40 wpm
Errors: 3 words
Net Speed: 37 wpm
That's better than high school! In Keyboarding, 9th grade, like 6 years ago, I consistantly was around 18-20. I did well in the other computer classes, but Keyboarding was a stupid pre-requisite and I think I got a lousy B or even C there. I'm happy with 40! Plus, I think I type faster when I'm not trying to copy something else. I'm probably a little faster when it's just off the top of my head, like right now.
I type 73 wpm with 96% accuracy, when I'm trying to do well on a typing test. Otherwise, slower, with more errors.
Test Name: Fishing in Finland
Gross Speed: 63 WPM
Errors: 3 words
Net Speed: 60 WPM
Accuracy: 95%
Denise
I need to keep practicing.
Test name: Tigers in the Wild
Gross speed: 61 WPM
Errors: 1 word
Net speed: 60 WPM
Accuracy: 98%
You don't want to know how I did on the Wizard of Oz one...
I dont like that one. I hit spacebar one too many times, and my entire paragraph was off. they wanted me to type one word, i was still typing another word. i got like, 1 WPM. which is crap, since i've done better on other WPM tests online. and Pam's 90 is insane. It's like White and Nerdy playing minesweeper insane.
Pam's 90 is insane. It's like White and Nerdy playing minesweeper insane.
I love that song. And the video for it is hilarious as well.
Denise
The last test I did i got 130wpm @ 100% :)
I have a friend that does over 150 but we're both programming nerds..
I'm not even going to admit to my typing speed. Let's just say, I better purchase that typing tutor software.
and Deer Jerky, you can't be serious. How is that even possible? If it is true, do you have some tips you can give us?
Oh, Pan, that's... respectable. But after Deer Jerky's numbers, I feel ashamed as well.
My first attempt I couldn't figure out how to start the test. My second? It all went horribly awry the minute I inserted two hyphens for that dash after "Zebra." I also blame the keyboard.
Thanks for resurrecting this, the only thread I"ve ever started on NA. It's a beauty.
Net speed: 87 WPM
Accuracy: 96%
Gross Speed: 91 WPM
Respectable, but nothing to that guy upthread who claims to type 130 WPM, because he's a "programming geek". Whatevs to that guy.
Whatevs to that guy.
Whoa!!! I thought we were done with slavery here in this country! You can't just hand over a human life like that.
On the zebra one:
gross: 69 wpm / accuracy: 94% / net: 65 wpm
On the enchanted typewriter one:
gross: 85 wpm / accuracy: 95% / net: 81 wpm
All the capital letters in the zebra one slowed me down.
So I just did the three minute Wizard of Oz one and fared much better:
Net Speed: 89 WPM
Accuracy: 98%
Gross Speed: 90 WPM
Showoff.
You know it. (Blowing the smoke off my fingertips.)
(I have to tell you that I feel as cool as Dwight dressed like Darth Maul at Halloween. Dawesome)
I've never seen so little accomplishment go to someone's head. Does this mean I'm working Saturday?
Thanks for getting my back, Asdfaeou!
You know what is weird? You mentioned me and slavery in the same post...well, the last thing I watched on my iPod was..."Roots".
82 with 94% accuracy, 87 gross. My former boss claimed she typed 100WAM--no way. She was so much slower than the rest of us.
You know, changing stories makes all the difference. I totally bombed the Zebra one and didn't realize at the time we could change. But how's this:
66 WPM
97% Accuracy (68 WPM gross)...
while holding a baby
Just took it again. 86 WPM, 100% accuracy. I think we've found my range.
. . . and again: 94 WPM gross, 98%, 93 WPM net. I think that's a record for me.
