Don't screw the pooch, Two-Hole. Do you want to use any of us as a reference? We can give them a character reference in six words, or in reverse psychology, or in haiku form.

Jun 20th 2013

I'll only give references in the form of a tirade.

Jun 20th 2013

I'll talk about manmeat. Neet that kind of reference?

Good luck with the interviews!

Jun 21st 2013

Make sure to bring up downsizing during the interview.

Jun 21st 2013

Make sure you wear your Gamecocks hat to the interview.

Jun 21st 2013

Good luck!

Not sure if I got the job, but I charmed the hell out of them. I was witty, engaging, and interesting. Now if only I could do that with girls ;-)

Jun 21st 2013

I think I can speak for collectively for the females here--we're all charmed, engaged and dazzled by your wit.

(holding out hands in front of my face) I'm blind! Blllllliiiind!

I appreciate that :-)

And that ;-)

I have to park in a church parking lot downtown for work, and usually I remember to put my parking pass in the front of my car so the cops know I'm supposed to be there (I'm buddies with the guy who goes around giving out tickets). Well, this morning I forgot to do that and found a parking ticket for $50.

I went to the police station, noticing at the door that parking citations were handled next door at city hall now but I'd already gone in so I talked to the folks there (who said they could take care of it next door). I walk out and bump into the parking citations guy, who recognizes me, remembers my car, and proceeds to let me off with a warning about needing to leave my parking pass out whenever I go to work. So I'm not out fifty dollars (which I would have been more than happy to pay, seeing as I did kinda forget about my parking pass) and that is always a good thing.

Jun 27th 2013

Why don't you just leave it on all the time?

Jun 27th 2013

Yay! Good news. And good question.

Jun 27th 2013

Why didn't you just throw the ticket away?

(Don't break the law.)

Jun 28th 2013

Why don't you just leave it on all the time?

Because I like the risk-taking thrill that comes with whether or not I'll remember to put it up when I park ;-)

Taking my vacation time next week (Mon-Thursday), which would be awesome enough even though I can't afford to actually go on vacation. But, to sweeten the deal: we're off Thursday for the 4th (duh) but also Friday. So that's an awful lot of days to have off. I hope I spend them wisely...at some computer lab, checking my Facebook every hour on the hour ;-)

Jul 3rd 2013

So, I recently bought an Apple TV, which is awesome. But then I lost the remote, which was not awesome. But then I discovered that I could download an app that let me use my phone as a remote, and now I feel like I live in the motherfucking future, bitches. (I've been watching Breaking Bad.)

Duh.

Jul 3rd 2013

I said I was from the future, not in it, at least before.

I want that for a Hallmark card, I don't know what holiday that would apply to but make it happen!

Jul 5th 2013

New Years.

Jul 5th 2013

New Years.

Yes!

Jul 5th 2013

Fun fact: I am currently the youngest person at my local library's computer lab, by a very wide margin. I'm willing to bet I'm also the only one gainfully employed (lot of retirees in the mix, no doubt wondering what all this internet stuff is and where is the damn porn they came to bitch against?)

TCM has special spotlights on Friday nights now, about whatever the hell they want (last month it was cult movies). This month is all about Francois Truffaut, one of my favorite directors. I'm a little geeked about it, to be honest ;-)

Jul 9th 2013

Busy day today: I drove up to Greenville for a few hours this morning, had lunch in Easley, and then bought a book in Anderson. Now I'm in Seneca on the library computer. I've seen quite a bit of upstate South Carolina today

Jul 10th 2013

Which book?

Jul 11th 2013

Which book?

Hitchcock/Truffaut, the book of interviews Francois Truffaut conducted with Alfred Hitchcock in the Sixties about all of his movies. I read it back when I was in Clemson (mostly while I was supposed to be working at the library...but it was summer, so). Found it at a used bookstore for eight bucks, figured I could chance it.

Jul 11th 2013

Went to the local library's used book sale (usually can't make the Thursday once-a-month sales because I'm at work) and found a copy of Saul Bellow's Humboldt's Gift for two bucks. Also saw a cooking book by someone with the last name "Kafka," but since it wasn't Franz I guessed it wasn't a nightmarish vision where you were asked to cook something but had no idea what it was and then you were turned into a giant cockroach at the end, so I didn't buy it. Maybe I should've, though...

Jul 13th 2013

I'm on vacation. It's a staycation, and it's raining. Still, no boss, no commute snd no pants.

Jul 13th 2013

I'm on vacation with Bri. Well, for now anyway, and tomorrow. But later today, I'm going to go into town for a little while.

But before that...nap.
