Discuss all things Darryl.

Feb 20th 2006

Oh...you really have to feel sorry for Darryl pretty much all the time he's there, don't you?

Feb 20th 2006

I love how he can intimidate Michael with just a look.

Feb 21st 2006

I'd like to see an episode where Michael and Darryl trade places. I think you'd see Darryl do a damn good job by not doing a thing. And every couple minutes, just cut to Michael destroying the warehouse more and more.

May 11th 2006

I think we saw Darryl's first talking head tonight, right? I knew it would be good.

May 11th 2006

Yeah, Darryl was great. I love how he didn't confess to making up all those "hood" phrases to Michael, but you knew because he just couldn't contain his laughter.

May 12th 2006

Loved Darryl! We need to see Roy next, though.

May 12th 2006

Too funny when Dwight came in there for "backup"

May 17th 2006

When Daryl said "this ain't over" he really meant it! What he did was 1000 worse than Michael messing up the warehouse one afternoon. And that's what makes it so sweet - because Daryl KNOWS Michael is gonna walk around using those phrases and doing that ridiculous handshake. It's just genius writing, acting, everything...

BTW...my husband sends me a daily email with nothing in it except these words:

Dinken Flicka

What a romantic, eh?

I'm reviving the Darryl thread because I think he hasn't gotten much love in a while. Last night Craig (Darryl) was in town giving a show at the Tempe Improv, and he got me and a couple friends free tickets to the show. We talked to him afterwards and he is the nicest guy, and not to mention, officially Awesome. We told him we've missed him so far this season, but he'll be back. And oh yeah, the show was great.

Oct 27th 2006

I miss Darryl too. His talking head in Casino Night was one of the greatest things ever. I love how he calls Michael Mike. I thought of him immediately when Dwight called Michael Mike during his brief reign of power in The Coup.

Glad to hear that he was a great guy, it's consistent with the rest of the cast. They all seem to be super cool people and extremely considerate and thankful to their fans.

Oct 27th 2006

He is totally underutilized. But I guess that happens with only 22 minutes and a consistently brilliant cast.

But Darryl's one of my favorites. He always looks like there are five wiseass things he wants to say and he picks the most work appropriate one. But oh, the restraint it takes!

Oct 27th 2006

Agreed. Putting aside JAM moments, Darryl's talking head was the highlight of Season 2 for me. Bring Darryl back!

Darryl was back - albeit briefly - for Branch Closing. His conversations with Michael are classic - although always reasonably polite, his utter disdain for Michael is obvious.

Michael: "I'll land on my feet, don't worry about me".
Darryl: "Oh I wasn't".

Darryl is awesome.

mistah rogers neighborhood - i have to throw in my 2 cents about his talking head- it was defintiely one of the best and he's got such a cute smile. he supposed to be a great singer in addition to a comedian.

goin' mach 5, baby

So does sending the Jamaica picture out to the whole company count as "revenge" for Michael's "Boys and Girls" fiasco?

Jan 11th 2007

At least.

Jan 11th 2007

I love Daryl. How much better would be be than Michael at running the entire office?

He IS a manager. Michael should still be in sales.

Jan 11th 2007

I'm sure the difference isn't lost of Daryl.

They might actually get some work done in this instance. Good for Dunder-Mifflin, I suppose.

Actually, the more I think about this, the funnier I think it would be: Michael is (temporarily) demoted, and not Jim but Darryl is made the boss. It'll never happen, but it would be great.

I've always pictured Daryl as the glue keeping Dunder Mifflin Scranton in business. I can see the "Office" crew screwing up orders/giving them to the warehouse at the last minute, and then Daryl miraculously saving each shipment with great customer knowledge/relations. Somehow he always finds a way to fleece it out.

Edited: As Daryl is te "glue" not 'glub'

Apr 8th 2007

I couldn't help myself.

Apr 8th 2007

Question: What is the end to Darryl's new phrase? Bippity boppity, gimme the...?

I hereby resolve to use "make it happen, Cap'n" in my everyday conversations.

Apr 8th 2007

According to officetally, its: Pippity poppety, give me the zoppity

I love the Michael/Toby/Darryl interaction in the truck, it's the height of uncomfortable car rides with people you wouldn't necessarily feel close to. And they're all right there, almost on top of one another.

Darryl is definitely the best warehouse character, he's the anti-Michael (a guy who is liked and respected by his employees without trying too hard). I've worked with guys like Darryl, and they never make it past the lower rungs of corporate authority because they're not enough of a prick about everything.

I get email updates from the Tempe Improv on upcoming acts and guess who's going to be here tomorrow thru Sunday? Darryl! Darryl! Darryl!

I might go check it out. Has anyone seen his comedy act? Is it any good?

I saw his act, at the Tempe Improv actually. It was pretty funny, and my friends and I had a good time. He actually got us free tickets, you should send him a message on myspace and mention you're going to the show...you never know. Plus, we talked to him after the show, and he was really nice.

Aug 29th 2007

Thanks for the info CZJ! We're going to go tomorrow because my best friend is going back home on Friday for labor day weekend. I sent Craig a message on myspace and maybe I'll get a response. If not, well we'll just see him mañana.

Okay people. I'm really starting to get jealous now. I may just have to go to the Office Convention in Scranton. If for no other reason, than to flaunt the fact that I live a short distance away.
