So, I don’t know if you like country music, but I was thinking maybe one of these days we could drive out to a field, crank up some tunes, smoke a few Macanudos. Maybe even toss a disc around.
This episode, to me at least, marks the return of the office we have all missed so much. Not that I didn't enjoy Jim at Stamford, in fact I was one of the strongest supporters of that aspect, but there is no denying that we wanted the return to Scranton. Last week was a little strange, as it had to deal with everybody moving in and whatnot... now we get to sit back and watch the magic begin.
Sounds like some classic Michael Scott to me. Should be really funny and we'll also probably get some classic JAM frustration with the Karen+Jim thing.
CREED CREED CREED CREED CREED CREED CREED CREED
Actually, that's too obvious. If it is someone from the new branch, Andy seems to obvious, as well. Stanley's new buddy seems too clean-cut. Karen's too buttoned-down. Hell, I don't know.
Actually we already know who it is... but I believe that revealing that at this point would not be kosher. It was the the yahoo previews that were posted a while back (although I heard that they were taken down). I suppose they are talking about it in the spoiler thread; though I have never looked at that thread myself, I would assume that it is being discussed.
It's making me think that something really funny/good will happen and they don't want to give anything away. But I don't want to get my expectations too high. It's quite possible that they've been busy promoting Scrubs too (by the by, saw the preview for the musical episode--faaabulous!)
Well, there you go. I haven't been watching TV, but I flipped to the Tonight Show for the commercials, and they just ran a promo for tomorrow's entire block. The only new Office footage was a quick shot of Michael in a do rag .
Well just from that I'm envisioning something along the lines of Dr. Evil in a do rag while he was in jail...given the theme of the episode. Do you think Michael will sing A Hardknock Life for Us?
Hannah Smoteridge-Barr (public indecency)?
Hey now, that's not very enlightened. :) Nursing and pumping in public is very legal.
...Just giving you a hard time. I did appreciate the humor of that scene.
Signed, A Breastfeeding Activist Mom who just particpated in a national nurse-in last week
Yeah, but if the cop was at the right place at the right time, there could've been a misunderstanding.
What, he would have thought it was a squid's eye?
Nice ;-)
I'd have to hope any cop would know it's legal. Scary to think that someone so uninformed could be charged to serve and protect.
Good for you, Cultrually Explicit. I read about that in the paper a couple of weeks ago after the big airline fiasco. How was your experience with your nurse-in? I, too, am a would-be activist about it; I say "would be" because no one ever challenged me about it, and I never had cause to stand up and make noise about it, so I was able to breastfeed in relative peace. I was ready to do battle if I had to, though :-). I'm a little disappointed that I didn't have to, I think.
NON-SPOILER ALERT, AND I AM WEARING PANTS Someone guessed (based on absolutely no spoilerish information) that maybe Karen is the convict, and maybe it's something related to alcohol (again, no spoilers here - just guesses). Maybe that would explain why she just pretended to drink with Jim and Andy got drunk in the office. That, and the fact that it was just inappropriate to drink liquor in the office, but still...I have no idea who the convict is.
Scary to think that someone so uninformed could be charged to serve and protect.
And yet, it happens all the time with matters vastly more important than a woman's right to breast-feed.
And yet, it happens all the time
I know it does. And it is scary.
EDIT: this is off-topic, but the police thing (and being out driving today) made me think of it....it's not uncommon here for ALL traffic to stop, in all directions, when a funeral procession is going by (I'm not saying it's exclusive to this part of the country. It may happen other places, but I've definitely noticed it more here than in NY). Often, they have a police car escort and one police car that stops all other traffic. I mean no disrespect to the dead, but this seems very over-the-top to me. In the midst of violent crime, busting up meth labs, and other assorted felonies taking place all the time, do people really still call the cops and say, "I need a police escort for our funeral procession tomorrow'? I will pull over if I'm blocking the procession, but does traffic in all directions, on each side of the median, need to halt? Does this happen other places, too? If you don't pull over, is it a felony? Are you a convict then?
You know who would be the weirdest convict? Angela. Maybe she found God (and cats) during her time behind bars.
OK, T-minus 65 minutes and I'm getting a little nervous. The quirks of campus TV have afforded me three--three--NBC affiliates...and they are all acting screwy. Channel 2 buzzes really loud whenever there's white on the screen. Channel 9 is frozen up on a corrupted image, though the audio still works; I don't know what show was on when it stopped working, but there's a guy on a bed with his face blurred out and one arm in the air. That leaves good old Channel 4, a bit fuzzy but usually reliable, which just cut out for a couple seconds a little bit ago.
Nathan, is there a way for you to get the audio from Channel 9 and the video from Channel 2 going at once? Like, steal somebody else's TV, or something? I'm sure you could rig something up.
Me, I've still got more than three hours to go. Sometimes I wish I lived on the East Coast, so things would happen sooner. Then again, they'd be over sooner, too.
"The Alliance"-esque moment. "Absolutely."
Note to NBC: Try not to wait till right before the episode to run a promo. A day or two in advance raises excitement. A second or two just ruins jokes.

Thank you, Nathan! I totally agree. I was good and avoided spoilers all week long and then THAT happened...
"Where milk comes from"--great. Actually works as satire of the movies too. Love the delivery on brreasts.
Ninety pounds? Gervais should check his kilogram conversion rate.
Pam looks so forlorn.
Prison Mike was good.
Allow me to be childish for a moment...
Yippee! Yippee! Yippee! Yippee! Yippee! Yippee! Yippee!
Pam and Jim's "looks" are back! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE how Jim would NOT allow Karen to be in on pranking Pam.
Other random thoughts...
I love Andy. And I love how he has become Jim's new tool.
Dwight's "halfsy" comment was so Dwight.
I love Toby.
I thought the "Prison Mike" thing was a bit much even for Michael but at least it contributed to a Jim and Pam look. (Yippee! They're back!)
"It sounds a lot like what I do here every day" Beautiful moment.
Great Toby-Michael scene.
Loved seeing Pam light up after she realized what was happening with Andy.
The locked-in-the-conference-room bit was Gervais's signature in the bottom right-hand corner of the painting.
I have a good feeling about the deleted scenes to come.
