Okay the last shot of Stanley staring at his car...priceless!!!
I loved when Daryll was giving Michael reasons to be alive and the camera would include Jim and Pam in the shot...it just seemed so right for them to be standing next to each other. Pam had her arms crossed like she used to in previous seasons when they were near each other, and Jim would just be smiling at her and laughing...it definitely felt like the old JAM!
I know I got my hopes up for this episode which is probably why I feel a little disappointed.
Oh no, nothing to look forward to on the Jam front, I guess (I still have 2 hrs to wait). Well, Single Tear, thanks for saving me from getting my hopes dashed too. I'm really sick of the sourness of this season with respect to Jim and Pam. Tell me that everything else about the episode makes it all worth while, I need to hear it.
Well this episode really reminded me of the injury in that it seemed like an episode that could stand alone, there is a larger story of JAM and karen and all that stuff but this episode was like a break, we saw jim and pam together and karen a few times but we didnt advance that plot, and that was ok. I liked this episode a lot
loved the betting too!
Wow, Creed was totally zipping his fly as he was announcing the castle. He went behind the bush to take a leak.
Tell me that everything else about the episode makes it all worth while, I need to hear it.
Oh, definitely. Just watch the episode for what it is with no expectations. It's still a great episode! Many funny moments. And what are you doing here? You're cheating!
but this episode was like a break
That sums it up well. I think I might have been the only one here, judging by the early reaction, who was kind of disappointed by this episode. I laughed a lot, but I felt like there was 9 minutes left and nothing had happened yet. Kevin going on about how many hours Jim spent at reception was something, huh?

What? Did you not see...
I know I got my hopes up for this episode which is probably why I feel a little disappointed by this episode.
And...
I felt like there was 9 minutes left and nothing had happened yet.
Yes, I felt the same way.
The next episode doesn't sound very JAM-ish either ;(...
April 21st...
Summary (NBC): The office is in crisis mode after a large shipment of Dunder-Mifflin paper is accidentally sent out with an obscene watermark. Michael tries to manage the media with an impromptu press conference. Jim and Andy try to calm the high school principal who has sent out prom invites on the affected stationery.
My bad ST. I think I would have liked this one better if it came in January or October.
And Bushiest_Beaver (whose name rocks so much), it doesn't sound very JAM-ish. but based on the history of NBC summaries, we'll probably get 22 minutes of Boinkenberry JAM.
By the way, Andy Bernard is back, but it was his cousin who just made the last out in the Mets-Phillies game.
Yeah, it was funny but I think I need a little more time to digest this one.
Already I'm thinking back, and the whole gambling bit was pretty funny and provided great secondary action.
Darryl was kind of mean, though. Funny, but mean. "Sittin' on yo' biscuit, afraid to risk it."
I really liked it. Not much on the Jam front, but I loved Kevin's observations about Jim and Pam and the fact that Karen didn't really understand the office and was losing money. I also loved Dwight and Micheal on the roof and Kelly being Kelly. I think this one will be funnier later, after they give the people what they want :)
Pretty good but not great. Agree that it was like The Injury, a stand alone episode that really could have been shown at any point in the season. I was fooled a couple times, I thought somehow people would get in the castle and start jumping around and having fun, and I thought Jim and Pam would work in tandem to get Michael off the roof.
Favorite part besides Creed peeing around the corner was all the betting. Reminded me of everybody following the Smails kid around and betting on what he would do during the final golf match in Caddyshack. Harold Ramis directed Caddyshack, guess who directed this episode?
$50 the Smails kid picks his nose.
Double or nothing he eats it.
Spalding! No!
Doodie!!!
Awesome, awesome, awesome. I loved this ep! Just very enjoyable, classic 'Office'. Great idea with the betting. It one of those things I could totally see happening at my office, especially lately.
Yes classic type episode. Loved it. Jim and Pam have been stabbing my heart and stomach the past couple of weeks, and I thoroughly enjoyed the break. Great Office humor. I thought Michael was endearing, really felt for him. Steve did a fantastic job.
I think I liked this episode more than I initially realized, if that makes any sense. I just read a couple pages of posts at TWOP and was cracking up remembering all the little moments:
GO SABRES!!!
Some else from Buffalo too! I can't believe how hockey crazy this town is. Great game, even better episode. I would almost go so far as to say my favorite from this season. All around a great night. Nice to see that "Drew" is back as well. Now I need to rewatch and catch everything I laughed over the first time.
Michael telling Dwight to call James P. Albini because Stanley was going to commit a hate crime.
I think he wanted Albini because Stanley was going to sue him for committing a hate crime.
This might be my favorite episode by morning. I thought Michael wanted his lawyer in case Stanley accused him of a hate crime.
I Braveheart.
ETA...what Nathan said
Tonight, our local (evil) NBC affiliate decided to preempt all NBC programming in favor of the opening game of our local minor league baseball team. I was so traumatized.
I loved the part in the cold open when Jim told Andy, er, I mean, Drew, that Dwight needed a hug. He's gonna have some fun piting those two against each other!
I think I loved every second of this episode.
I smiled throughout. Nice to have a JAM-light episode. I loved the melon bouncing off Stanley's car and the fact that such a bad outcome did not deter Michael from planning to jump anyway.
Also, Michael is the boss, yet cannot play with the "blue collar" toys.
I can't believe no one's talking about Dwight's staggeringly personal revelation to the camera. "I was shunned from my fourth birthday to the age of six for not saving the extra oil from a can of tuna." He needs a shrink, BADLY.
