My will power is at an all time low, and I can't stop myself. Help me. Please.
Angela's gonna kill me!
No kidding. It is outta control. The spoiler post at OfficeTally gets updated practically daily. The bloodshed's gotta be in the thousands by now.
Funny, it's like I don't even see the Spoiler thread anymore. I notice that a row is white, but it's blocked out of my mind.
I got mad the other day though--I clicked on a non-specific Office-related link on another site and it turned out to be an NBC YouTube video of a scene from this Thursday. I closed it before too much damage had been done, but now I already know the premise of one of the jokes.
Think of the study they did on little kids a while back: the one where they bring the kid into a room with a marshmallow on a plate and say that they'll be right back. They tell them that they can eat the marshmallow if they want, but if they wait until the researcher gets back, they can have two marshmallows.
Think of the spoiler thread as that one big horizontal rectangular marshmallow. Sure, it'll taste great and you can have it right now, but if you wait, you'll get something better.
I would be so proud of myself if I just didn't peek for even one week. My friend who loves The Office said, "I can't understand why anyone would even want to know?" Although he's extremely spoiler-free (no episode titles, descriptions or previews) his quest is to skip an episode so he can watch two new episodes together. He has never made it so far.
I always convince myself that it won't hurt to know something ahead of time. Either way I'll enjoy it, whether it be now or later. Then when the episode actually airs, I am sorry that I didn't wait.
I really look forward to reading a new spoiler, but then I feel a little tainted afterward for doing something I shouldn't have.
It's just so much better to wait for the show. I broke down and read the episode capsules for the rest of the season and those told me more than I wanted to know. Pop culture rarely surprises anymore, so when you find something that you like and that is fairly unique (notwithstanding the UK office), it is indeed like 2 marshmallows.
And I like me some marshmallows.

Yeah, me too. I suppose it was central enough to be unavoidable, but I was a little disappointed to find out about that arc so early. If any summaries-but-no-spoilers people haven't read the summaries yet, I'd almost recommend that they don't, at least not till after (I'm guessing) Women's Appreciation.

I'm pretty confident I saw the first few seconds of the very same clip. Was it at GMMR?
I'm going to give this thread a try, but I'm half-convinced I should just give in to the temptation and immerse myself in spoiler-dom. People who embrace them seem to still enjoy the show. If I stick around, can we make it puppies instead of kittens? I'm not much of a cat person so it's no real incentive.
I find I enjoy the show a lot more when I don't know too much about what's going to happen. If I know too much, I think I have a tendency to build it up in my mind, and then when the show is really on, I'm disappointed. I've read the episode descriptions, and I saw that youtube video, and I think I even watched one of the preview videos. But that's it--from here til the end of the season, I'm not spoiling myself anymore. Marshmallows all around.

It was at a sports website, actually. A commenter included the link because it could be tied into whatever was being discussed, but didn't specify how, or what the clip was.
I wonder if spoilers had anything to do with the pet food scare a few weeks ago.

Griefbone and Nathan, that can be disappointing, but take comfort in the fact that it's likely that the episode descriptions are misleading. We may be pleasantly surprised after all.

This is a support group and our friend Brian is weakening. He needs some intervention NOW!
I am truly a spoiler addict. Just coming to this thread and finding out that GMMR has spoilers and OfficeTally is adding new ones daily, is giving me a case of the willies. The withdrawal is going to be more difficult than I thought.
Dang it. I had a whole post about interventions using useful info from Wikipedia and trying to counsel Brian, but then I hit "Add your comments" and nothing except a server not found error message. So I'm going to scrap that plan and just say that Brian, by reading spoilers, you are supporting the terrorists.
One of these days I want to go into the spoilers thread and read them, but I don't know when. What's in there? If I go in after season three, will I accidentally learn things I don't know about season four? It's quite a conundrum. But I've had movies spoiled for me when I read reviews of them in the newspaper, so I have learned my lesson the hard way (Sixth Sense still surprised me, thank goodness). I am not even the least bit tempted by the spoiler thread, although I get irritated when what I consider a spoiler (and I'm pretty strict about the definition) pops up on some other thread. I didn't even like hearing that there were pictures from an episode that might give information about the contents of the episode! I think now it must have been a shot of Pam and Jim in the parking lot outside the bouncy castle but I haven't gone back to check.

Which, we found out, meant nothing at all.
This is just what I need right now.
Hi, my name is Post-it Thief and I've been spoiler free for...about 26 hours. It's just so hard!
Well, that was the wrong time to click on GMMR's home page. I couldn't even scroll down for fear for seeing what the article contained. You have been warned!
Also, we need to watch out for any imposters who may be in here just because they want to hear us spill our deepest, darkest secrets. "The watercooler on a Sunday evening? And they seemed so normal!"
What's in there?
Five-legged monsters, dragons, and Leprechaun's gold.
Don't do it, Man! I just watched all of season 2 not knowing a thing about what was going to happen (one of the few advantages of being a Southern Hemisphere fan) and while I was savouring every episode, my life was filled with light and meaning. Stay in the light Man, stay in the light!!!
"The watercooler on a Sunday evening? And they seemed so normal!"
Also, I've had three donuts today.
Okay, I'm all in on this one. No spoilers for the rest of the season. We can do eeet!
Thanks, WhiteTennisShoes. You have inspired me to stay away from spoilers, for now. What do you guys think about us developing a 12-step program? I'm sure we can come up with 12 steps.
Hey, that's 3 weeks! Isn't it? Oh crap.......
Kidding. I've read the episode descriptions, but that's pretty much it. I promise not to taint myself any further, however long that is. I should have made this promise May 16th...
How convenient, seeing as the rest of the season is only 2 weeks...
No Bobble-Head! stop saying that or it will be true! There are 4 weeks left.
Just to clarify, I really do mean Season Two. Because I live in Australia and have only got to see all of S2 due to the magic of DVD, officially I am trapped in the time warp of being at the end of 'Casino Night'. So there is a world of spoilers out there for me. And trust me it, it takes an iron will not to peek into what happened at Dunder-Mifflin the-moring-after-the-night before!!!!

WhiteTennisShoes, I know. Mixed Berries also lives in Australia and I remember him saying something about only getting repeats on TV. He is getting the episodes now, as far as I remember. Maybe he can tell you if he is streaming them from the internet or something.
