Do you need to see them having sex?

Need? No, not need. Want?

No. Probably still not.

Donald Trump and Colin Farrell are an item? Yikes. Well it must be true. I read it.

I am done with my Season One rewatch and it is interesting how different the show is. There is absolutely no way that Pam went from season one Pam to FNB in two years. She's a completely different character. They all kind of are. There are great episodes but it's remarkable how they changed over that particular summer between seasons.

Pam's just too doleful. I only watched the British version Series One once, but Pam seems to be doing Dawn and not really playing Pam as a different person. I think I heard or read somewhere that Steve Carrell started watching only a few minutes of that program after getting cast and then stopped so he could make his own character. I wonder if Jenna Fischer was stuck in Dawn herself or someone was telling her how to act, but the doleful and frightened bits are strange. I can see now why people are making the case for Roy hitting her. I don't think Roy does, based on her character from the other seasons. First season Pam (FSP) really isn't Pam.

That said, perhaps her character in season two is more meek than I remember. I haven't watched it since last Christmas, so I remember plots but not characterization so much. I look forward to seeing how my impressions will change.

KarenM, you've just expressed why I've only watched S1 once and may never watch it again, and also why I never liked the British Office. Too bleak - too much of a downer for my tastes.

S1 introduced the broad outlines of the show/characters, but for me the show didn't get its proper start until The Fire (I'm going with that "original sequence" of the episodes that was posted somewhere around here a few days ago, and which I've printed off and stuck in my S2 DVDs.)

I printed the same list and want to try that sequence as well. There was a revised S3 sequence as well and I just watched it. Not too different, but a slightly better flow. The S2 changes are pretty significant.
S1 does have a completely different vibe and I'm glad it was only 6 episodes so impressions weren't set in stone.

Here's some badass Jenna from 2001.

Jan 27th 2008

Wow! Mean!

Really? Even Kelly? :-D

Ick, big hair. :-)

I worship Jenna as a goddess. Everyone here knows that. I think she's the most talented and beautiful actress working in series TV right now. But - my God in heaven! - who advises her on her outfits for awards shows?

This thing she wore to the SAGs tonight made her look like she was ready to crawl under a Buick and start working on the tranny.

She gave a very nice acceptance speech, though.

Jan 27th 2008

What channel are you watching? I've missed all that!

Jan 27th 2008

TNT. I think it may also be on TBS.

Alec Baldwin beat out Steve Carrell for Best Actor - TV Comedy. :-(

Jan 27th 2008

I've had it on.....where the hell was I when Jenna was on? shit.

Jan 27th 2008

It was maybe 15 or 20 minutes ago. Did you have to go to the Lady's?

Don't worry - I'm sure OfficeTally will have the clips posted by tomorrow.

Jan 27th 2008

maybe i was in the basement doing laundry. grrr.

Jan 27th 2008

That sucks. Sorry, St,D.

But at least you'll have clean undies tomorrow, right?

Jan 27th 2008

I'm not sure I like her dress :-S

Jan 27th 2008

start working on the tranny.

Who's a tranny? Is Jenna a tranny? I read that on the internet, right?

Jan 27th 2008

start working on the tranny.

Is that what the gender reassignment surgeon said?

Jan 27th 2008

gb & Brian, you two are deeply evil. ;-)

Melora's dress was pretty fuggley, too.

I'm not gay.

Jan 27th 2008

Angela, on the other hand, looked incredibly hot!

Jan 27th 2008

Oh, I liked Jenna's dress. And Angela's and Kate's. I wasn't a fan of Mindy's or Melora's.

Jan 27th 2008

From the waist up Jenna's dress looked like a pair of bib overalls. From the waist down it was OK. And it looked great from the back (but when doesn't she look great from the back!)

Melora looked like she had a large, dead crow draped around her neck.

Jan 27th 2008

But Jenna's dress had those pretty sparkles on top! (I'm very girly.) I was also excited to see her in a dress without a huge bow. I wasn't a fan of the bows.
