Having gone through the archives of NA over the morning when I should have been working, I have noticed how that the above posters who were once regular fixtures here and have now silenced their voices, uh, keyboards. So this is my shout out to you all, wherever you are in cyberspace. Come back. Say hello.

Nov 22nd 2007

ABZ is missing from that list.

Nov 22nd 2007

Edited to add a few more names. I wonder how many people sign up and then either forget to come back or forget their sign in names or passwords. I do that alot.

I've seen a couple names of posters who don't post here, but are on OfficeTally (like ddker, jim mosby, GMMR, etc.) almost every night. I do my darndest to try and bring posters from there over here. They have a pretty small rotation of regulars, too, like we do here.

Nov 22nd 2007 edited

Okay, I don't want to thread steal, so I'm going to do it anywy. Let's think of it more as a segway.

Daoust had inspired me to take a look at the archives myself and poke around. Anyway for somereason, I have complied a list! The top posters!!!!! This off course has nothing to do with power, or greatness or anything like that, for we are all equal (with exception to the moderators of course) this is a list, nothing more. They're are 31 on the list, which worked out pretty well because it makes up everyone who has more than 500 posts. So here we are:

Wow, you really really like "The Office", don't you
31. ABZ (550) (2.16 PPD)
30. call of duty (660) (3.71 PPD)

3. KarenX (5199) (12.45 PPD)
2. DwightfromtheFuture (1465+4293=5758) (15.15 PPD)

Burned Through Five Computers On Here
1. Brian (6454!!!) (12.75 PPD)

Now of course, this means nothing (big part of why I didn't make another thread for this) Also, it doesn't factor in length of membership, just overall post count, so don't go by this for any means. That being said, I think it's pretty obvious anyone on the list would be able to recognize everyone else on the list so were a nice little group here.

So, I've adapted the post with more information for everyone. Now it includes Posts Per Day (PPD) A funny fact- Whatevs and LATP! are back to back on the list and they joined within one day of each other!

Oh, incase everyone is wondering, I figured out the "days since" amount with [this site(http://www.jeffpalm.com/dayssince/) which has a fancy little disclaimer on the bottom!

Nov 22nd 2007

Sweet merciful crap, Asdfaeou, that is some NICE work! Well done. Gold plated pretzel and Busy Beaver Dundie to you, my friend! Of course some people will say that they haven't been here as long as some others, so that has affected post counts, but that doesn't mean that there aren't people who have been here a short time and aren't on the list either.

Anyway, great job, Asd.

And Brian congratulations, I think.

Nov 22nd 2007

Now I don't know whether I should start posting more or less.

Nov 22nd 2007

I really miss Flonkkerton. She was getting a little irritated because she was trying to stay spoiler-free and she'd open up a thread and read something that she didn't want to. I don't know if that's why she stopped coming here, but I wonder if she knows that we've tightened up the spoiler policy.

Another past poster that isn't mentioned is Andy the Cat. Named after Jenna Fischers pet kitty. She had lots of good, insightful stuff to share with us.

When I remember ABZ's last post, she was not too happy with us straying off-topic on the episode threads. It never turned into a fiasco like we had the other day and again, I don't even know if that's what she left us.

Nov 22nd 2007

ABZ was mad about chatter in the episode thread? Now I feel bad. Or was it more of a "Come on, guys" comment.

I think a lot of people went on vacation during the summer and just didn't come back. By a lot I mean I don't know how many.

Nov 22nd 2007

Wow, I'm surprised I made the list at all. I tend to just lurk nowadays, especially because most of you are asleep when I'm around, and vice versa.

I wish I could find it. It was pretty much like what Mother Goose said. I'm not even sure if it was an episode thread, but whatever thread it was, she wanted us to get back to discussing the subject that the thread was designed for. That's the last I remember hearing anything from her.

Nov 23rd 2007 edited

I'm torn about this. While on the one hand I do like to read all the on-topic comments about each episode in the episode threads, those tangents, I just love 'em. They are usually good for a laugh. Usually if theres a tangent and I just want to read about the ep I just skim over the non related stuff. I guess if the mods felt it was a big enough issue they could use their mod powers to steer things back on course if they felt a thread was getting a little out of hand. Or they could just move a tangent over to an applicable thread.

Besides, I am sure there aren't many office related forums out there who stick to the script 100% of the time.

Most days, (actually six days out of seven, probably) it's the off topic stuff that keeps me coming back. You guys are my daily dose of levity, wit and humour and trivia.

See, even this thread is off on a tangent now. It's just so easy.

Nov 23rd 2007

And Brian congratulations, I think.

Thanks, I think. You know, there's a pair of prolific posters who arrived here after me.

KarenX: 5,199 posts/418 days (Oct. 1, 2006-Nov. 23, 2007) = 12.438 posts per day
DwightfromtheFuture/DftF Schrutespace: 5,758 posts/379 days (Nov. 9, 2006 - Nov. 23, 2007) = 15.193 posts per day
Brian: 6,454 posts/505 days (July 6, 2006 - Nov. 23, 2007) = 12.780 posts per day

I feel 0.43% better.

Nov 23rd 2007

God, I post with a bunch of nerds.

Nov 23rd 2007 edited

Are you talking about Brian for calculating the stats, or about him, DftF, and me for producing those stats?

Now I am self-conscious, a thought I had (and posted) that will probably wear off.

Nov 23rd 2007

Well I only come out to 4.92 posts per day even though I'm in the "They Post Everthing That They Choose To Think" category. I'm just not thinking as much as my comrades.

Nov 23rd 2007 edited

Now I've got to go figure out mine cuz I've only been here for a short while.

So I'm at a safe 8.32 ppd (posts per day.) That's just a healthy obsession there. It's not overboard yet.

Nov 23rd 2007

I'm a little embarassed that my secondary account would rank 16th.

But your song tipped the scales and brought your average up. The song alone is worth at least the value of ten posts.

Nov 23rd 2007

Aw..thanks! I think. Does that make me more or less cool? I'm confused now.

Nov 23rd 2007

Way more cool.

Nov 23rd 2007 edited

I think that Dftf and his ally Schrutespace win the Dundie for the most lengthy posts and Single Tear wins one for the longest haiku's.

Nov 23rd 2007

We should have our own Northern Attack Dundies. That would be awesome.

Nov 23rd 2007

With the high post-per-day count, this either makes me an incredible blowhard or the Ted Williams of Northern Attack.

Or both. Or neither. And KarenX, I was referring to the math skills on hand here.

Nov 23rd 2007

1288 posts / 637 days = 2.02 posts per day for me. whats really weird with my posts is if you count length by syllables, they are almost all the same number.

I agree. I'm sure in the writers room of The Office they get off on tangents all the time. And I swear so of the funny comes from there. It must.

Nov 23rd 2007

Okay, I've now ranked those on the list by their PPD. Some big changes, lots and lots of small ones. I've also shown the change from the prior list in parenthesis.

Nov 23rd 2007 edited

I'm shocked that I'm mid-list! I must be coasting from the many, many posts I used to leave when I still had an office job and a huge need for escapism...

I also sometimes wonder where Long Tim went.

Nov 23rd 2007

846 posts at 2.03 posts per day. Wow, and I've been hanging out a bit less lately. Still, proud to be in the top 31! Woo Hoo!

PS Still in the frigid north...wish me luck getting home tomorrow!
