Do you guys read imdb boards at all? When I do, I have to click to open each message. They aren't all open like here...the thread just shows one post at a time. I think it used to display them all open...Is there a way I can change it?

Jan 8th 2012

Yeah, turn off nested comments.

So this guy is still doing this.

I'm pretty surprised, but I guess I haven't looked at a TV blog or a listened to a TV podcast in quite a while. It used to be I'd never miss a TWSS episode. But the Chuck finale had me reading Sepinwall and Mo Ryan again, and even downloading their recent podcasts. So I looked this one up. You know, I really miss doing that stuff myself, not that I ever had a huge audience. But it was respectable considering it started out as a diversion from work. After a while it became my central focus to the extent I could get away with it. It was fun being passionate about something so unimportant, and having an audience for it.

What about your job at the paper?

and having an audience for it.

Oh, nevermind then.

Jan 31st 2012

Boom. Irrelevant industry Roasted.

Jan 31st 2012

Industry? No, industries make things.

I can relate to this. Back in 1997, some friends and I started up a fairly popular racing website. The weekly hate mail was glorious. Got burned out after a few years. Now I don't even watch racing.

Jan 31st 2012

Funny, because I barely watch TV now.

Jan 31st 2012

So this guy is still doing this.

That is a lot of energy to put into something that gets 4 comments per episode at best. I didn't listen to any of the podcasts to see if the guy is still upbeat about the show. Is that still possible?

Jan 31st 2012

At his most enthusiastic, I wouldn't have described him as upbeat. I can only imagine what his thoughts are now. I'm trying to remember when I gave it up and I think it must have been after Season 6, but even that seems like longer than I would have hung on. Meanwhile, he's still doing them. And I know from speaking to him at length about it once that he doesn't just crank them out. They took a lot of his time.

Jan 31st 2012

There are a couple of guys who do it now. I haven't listened to one in a while, but I give them credit for still plugging away. I couldn't imagine spending an hour and a half breaking down "Pool Party". Or even 15 minutes.

Jan 31st 2012

It would be kind of awesome in a quirky way to be really into something that almost no one else was. Like starting a fan club based on Cooter from Dukes of Hazzard.

Jan 31st 2012

Yeah, that's my only point. He did polished podcasts compared to even many of the "professional" ones I've heard. I hate when they sound like a transistor radio with bad reception playing in the middle of a gymnasium.

Yeah, he doesn't do one for every episode and "Pool Party" missed the cut. Understandably.

Jan 31st 2012

So this guy is still doing this.

I just deleted this podcast off my list last year. I get what the guy is doing. He's hanging on to the bitter end. He's seeing this podcast to it's end. He has a sense of commitment and devotion to a project he began many years ago, and he's really sticking with it.

I can appreciate that.

It's a lot like us and this place.

Looks like they've done one for every episode this season, up through "Mrs. California". I think they're just behind.

You picked up what I was puttin' down.

Jan 31st 2012

Hey D, I just checked my NA user stats for some reason and saw something about you that I had put there years ago. Check it out. Because of funny.

Jan 31st 2012

So...inertia?

Jan 31st 2012

Funnier Than...Daoust

Haha. Nice. Not true, but nice try.

Jan 31st 2012

I laughed.

Jan 31st 2012

It's a lot like us and this place.

Except the episode threads around here are barely an afterthought and most of the entries have nothing to do with the show. To call this an Office website is mostly nostalgia.

Jan 31st 2012

I laughed.

So it's true...I bet you didn't laugh at any of Daoust's jokes.

I have no idea what I was thinking when I put that there.

Jan 31st 2012

You were hoping that I would snoop your profile sometime and see that and think, "Golly gee, that Jinx is one funny chap!".

Jan 31st 2012

I waited five years for that payoff. And still I had to show you the joke.

Jan 31st 2012

A for effort.
