I've been to both San Carloses, for what it's worth. Which isn't much, really. But, you know, six degrees of elimination.

May 11th 2007 edited

Yes, DFTF, Palo Alto is pretty close to San Carlos. It sounds like you get around pretty much.

May 11th 2007

I was pretty much itinerant between college and returning to Portland. But I actually saw San Carlos the neighborhood (in San Diego) when I was in college, because my friend Mike lived there, and we went down one fall break, right after we had just broken up with people, and had ourselves a lost weekend devoted mostly to malt liquor and Joey Harrington's embarassing collapse against Stanford.

May 11th 2007

I have to ask you, because everyone in San Diego gets confused... were you and Mike in San Marcos... up by the 15 and the 78, or in San Carlos, by Lake Murray and Cowles Mountain and pretty close to SDSU?

I know there are lots of cities named it, but it catches my attention every time when I see it in print. I had to say something.

May 11th 2007

Closer to SDSU, or at least I assume so -- his step-father worked there. I suppose it's possible it was the other one, but I don't think so. Can't be sure, because we were both drunk almost the entire time we were there.

Hey guys,

I have a fun little contest running for "The Office" Finale over at my site. I'm sure you're sick of hearing about me already, but I just love the show so much, I can't stop thinking of ideas to do with it! :)

Been away most of the weekend but in case it's not been posted here's the new temporary home for OfficeTally for all you non-MySpacers.

May 13th 2007

It's been a while, but part 6 in the series is up. I welcome your feedback as well as suggestions for future installments.

I enjoyed your latest LoHud blog entry about the Office per usual, Brian, especially that you ask about what's behind your interview subjects' passion for the show. It's such a "deep chemistry" thing, it's a bit mysterious to me, so I'm always glad to hear people try to explain it.

Thanks for posting that, gt. I've realized that I've taken OT for granted. I, and many others I'm sure, need that site back up! Man, what awful timing for the Tanster.

May 14th 2007

What's happened to OT? Why can't we access it?

May 14th 2007

Thanks Wink. That's the main thing I wanted to get at. Passion's a hard thing to nail down, but these people have a lot of it. Next up for Thursday's finale: The Office LJ mods. If anyone has brilliant questions to suggest, I'm all ears (figuratively, otherwise it'd be weird).

Ahhhhh. That is beaucoup de merde, if you'll pardon my francais.

May 14th 2007

Oui, c'est ├ža.

May 16th 2007

Hey all, my latest Office fan interview just went up, so I thought I'd share. It's with Stephanie, one of the Office LJ mods. And since this is probably the last one I'm going to be doing of these, I thought I'd post the links to all seven here for your Office reading enjoyment.

May 16th 2007

Hi peeps. I recently started a blog called Jim Face where people can send in photos of their best Jim faces (intentional or otherwise). I would love to have everyone's submissions from Norhern Attack.

May 18th 2007

I wasn't satisfied with just writing my normal Office recap/blog, though I'll get to that in a day or so. I had something I felt was more important to say first. It's here.

May 18th 2007

Nice blog Brian. I agree that capping it off with "It's a date" was really inspired.

May 18th 2007

I was glad to read it Brian, but I think you made more sense when you were paranoid and complaining. I loved the end; I didn't much care for the journey.

May 18th 2007

Brian, that was great stuff. Looking back on the past season, as painful as it was at times, I wouldn't change a thing. Okay, maybe parts of GWH. Whatever. Anyway, to me, it made the events of the finale just that much sweeter.

Stupid Mets. Cut us a break, will 'ya? :)

And it'll only get worse. New York will have Ryan Howard next season.

Well done, sir.

Thanks guys. Glad you liked it.

No.

My self-plugging is getting out of hand. Sorry. But my co-worker met John Krasinski on Mother's Day.

May 21st 2007

Brian, I just got to reading your memo to Daniels and I was going to comment on it when I came upon the article about your friend Swapna. Now I'm overcome with jealousy. How does one just happen to run into John Krasinski? Did you see how cute he is IRL? He's got 5 o'clock shadow and everything. I love that. She's so lucky and I'm proud of her for getting out and asking for a picture. I probably would have hid somewhere and snapped one without him knowing.

Brian, I loved your memo. It took me down memory lane. I can't say that I agree with everything. You are much too forgiving. I'm still PIO'D about the flashback in GWH, but I'm glad you are able to come to terms with it, at least for now. The haitus is sure to awaken some angry feelings before too long. I just loved the way you chronologically tied your thoughts together with Office episode lingo. Great job:)

Did you see how cute he is IRL? He's got 5 o'clock shadow and everything. I love that.

And I, to you, in addition, feel the same feelings that you are as well, Toaster. Thanks for posting that pic, Brian.

May 22nd 2007

What's more remarkable, that Swapna's husband went along with her hopping from the car unexpectedly to get a photo with John or the fact that my wife looked at the picture and said, "I don't usually think he's that good-looking, but he looks really good there."

May 22nd 2007

I tell my hubby not to worry because it's the fictional character of Jim Halpert that I have a crush on, not John Krasinski. But that picture makes a liar out of me. (Don't tell Mr. Tear) I would have jumped out of the car too. Even if I was driving. That's what cruise control is for, right? But seriously, I'm sure I would have made a fool of myself if I were Swapna. I would have tripped at least once on my mad dash to get to him, broken my camera in the process and forgotten my own name.
