Well, for a long time I've been planning on doing something like this because this is so special a place, it deserves it. I'm archiving important dates, times, events good and bad as a tidy reference to us all. I, though skilled at my fact checking, can't do this alone, so I'm going to take up a few of the first posts (so things can be organized by theme or category) and then throw open the doors for submissions into the archives. If you think it belongs, suggest it, well see where it goes.

Important Events

First Posts--February 20th, 2006
Well, I guess the start of the archive would be the start of the forum. As much as I can tell, the earliest of threads were started on February 20th, 2006 Where our still sticked Attention New Members thread was placed by James himself. Also, to kick things off, it would seem to be that James gave us several character pages to work with...

Oft Used Terms

Tear'd
To be "Tear'd" means to have a post you made be referenced but not without it first being ignored, for either a long period of time or a long space in the thread. Brian coined the term here after our very own Single Tear for pointing out a comment Brian had made an entire day before.

James
James, listed as "James Fan" in his profile, is the creator and figure-head type leader of Northern Attack, due to his vast amount of projects he is unable to post as regularly as most are on the Watercooler, however he does keep an active watch over us, and acts as a final say in decisions in which he is required. A new television based project seems to be in the works for James, and us, as is seen by his thread Lend James A Hand

The Rest...

more than that

more than that or mtt, as he is often called, is actually John from Iowa and the 1,118th member of Northern Attack. A profilic poster, mtt join our little society on December 8th, 2007 with a beautifully worded introduction and has never looked back. A strong Democrat, mtt is known for single line non-sequitur summarization's of posts, the butt of old age jokes, and represented a new age of posters*. Also, he is found to be one of the more positive, up-building members, usually the first to congratulate when something positive happens, or cheer up when someone is having a bad day. This is not to say that he is naive, for on several occasions strong opinions have flowed through his words. Needless to say, his screen name is derived from Jim in the oh so special quote in Casino Night: "I don't want to be that, I want to be more than that." (being the name comes from mid sentence, this may also explain the lack of capitalization.)

*This should be explained. Posters, as any new ones reading this will learn, come in waves, usually in line with important office events, season premieres, season finales, or genuinely big moments/happenings with The Office. The trend is that several join (or start posting frequently with a screen name they've had for a while) as a group, only a few stick around. In mtt's case, while several people did join around his time, he remains here, while most others (except for Vampiric Germ nee Same team, Dwight) have disappeared into the streams of NA history.

Asd has a vision. But I'm damned if I can figure out what it is.

Still...I shall trust him. For he is the Master Archivist.

Jun 6th 2008

Brian? Can you use your almighty MOD powers for a second and erase the comments inbetween the two groups of archives? I got spam blocked, and couldn't get them all in one bloc.

Which us brings us back to boobs.

Do you have enough space to archive all the boob mentions?

Jun 6th 2008

Brian? Can you use your almighty MOD powers for a second and erase the comments inbetween the two groups of archives?

But...but then you are asking Brian to erase part of that very history you wish to preserve! I think those posts are now an essential part of the thread!

Also, "This space reserved for chives" made me laugh my ass off!

Jun 6th 2008

Space reserved for chives.

LOL! LOL!

I've never deleted a post as a mod, and I wouldn't without a real compelling reason. (Even then, I'd probably pretend to be away and leave it for MB or CZ-J. Besides, I can't remove the post, only the comments in it.

Curses! foiled again!

Ha.

Jun 6th 2008

It seems more true to the forum to have the wisecracking posts in between the archives.
And thanks, fellas.

Jun 6th 2008

Don't worry, Asd. I'm sure your Museum of NA will still be Dawesome even with the smartass posts.

Jun 6th 2008

Even then, I'd probably pretend to be away and leave it for MB or CZ-J.

No fair stealing my strategies.

Besides, I can't remove the post, only the comments in it.

Actually you can hide the comments. Or the whole thread even.

Also, what exactly is happening in here? I'm very suspicious.

Jun 6th 2008

I like what Asd is trying to do here, and if there's anyone who could pull a thread like this off, and be awesome at it, it's him. He's an extremely good factchecker and detail finder. I say clean the thread up, and let Asd take it over.

Space reserved for Archies?

Jun 6th 2008

Asd is opening up a NAtional Archives.

Or NAtional Chives...we're not entirely sure.

Jun 6th 2008

Sorry, CZJ, this is going to take a while to really take shape, I'll have to BEG of you to bare with me, at least for a few days?
