This thread is reserved for spoilers about upcoming episodes. You've been warned.

Feb 20th 2006

Can I ban myself from this thread? If there are actually Office spoilers posted, it'll be the death of me. I have no self control :(.

Feb 20th 2006

I may create some enemies with this link, but here goes anyway.

This is the ultimate spoiler link. It's the sides for the upcoming episodes:

Casting Sides

Feb 20th 2006

before I click - what's a casting side?

Feb 20th 2006

before I click - what's a casting side?

It's a draft of part of the script. Just go to the Valentine's Episode and you'll see.

Feb 20th 2006

I love the Casting Sides site -- I wonder how much of it is misleading though? That script line about Jim handing something to Pam at the end of Valentine's Day was SUCH a tease! :)

Here's something that may be more speculation than spoiler, but we'll see! Click on the link below and scroll all the way down, second item from the bottom:

I know, a number of us spoiler whores were fooled at the ending of the V-day episode (I actually loved the ending though). I will say this: Most of the casting sides in Season 2 so far have been fairly accurate after watching the episodes. This last one was an exception.

I saw that little tidbit from Kristin awhile back as well!! Thanks for the reminder.

One more thing - I just read in the EW article that Steve Carell wrote the season finale. I bet it's good

Feb 20th 2006

I just read in the EW article that Steve Carell wrote the season finale. I bet it's good.

Ooh! Forgot about that! When I picked up my copy of EW from my box at the UPS store, I squeeeeed so loud people became visably frightened. LOL! As Pam would say, "You are so dorky!"

Feb 23rd 2006

James warned everyone.......

I am a "spoiler whore". Perhaps I'm not alone. I love to speculate (with the aid of casting sides/spoilers) as to where the writers are going to take the Jim/Pam storyline. I usually fail, but I at least "attempt" to get inside the writers heads.

WARNING: Spoilers.....

From next week’s episode “Dwight’s Speech”,

Kelly (O.C.) “Oh my God, did you pick your first dance” Jim (into phone)”right, actually on second thought, I want to go out of the country………yeah……”

From the episode preceding the season finale, “Conflict resolution”,

Dwight: “Are you going to transfer Jim or not?” Michael: “Maybe, I’m not going to decide today. We’ve got work to do.”

Obviously, if you were spoiled from the V-day episode you know the writers changed the script and fooled some of us. Originally, Jim was supposed to give Pam a gift at the end. He didn't. My point is the plotline/dialogue above could change when the episode airs. Who knows. With exception of the V-day episode though, the pre-draft scripts have been very accurate.

My question: What will happen to Jim? And why?

A) Stay at Dunder-Mifflin (Scranton branch) B) He transfers to a different branch C) He leaves Dunder-Mifflin

** We know it's going to be temporary whatever happens. That's a given.

I'd love to get some feedback from all the intelligent/analytical thinkers on this board....

Blake, interesting info and questions.

I worry that the writers sift through these forums and try to throw those of us who speculate. At least, that's what I think happened on Lost.

So ...

I assumed from the spoiler that Jim wanted to go on vacation to get away from the situation. Jim out of the office and Pam realizes she misses him? I can't imagine a day in office without Jim, and I'm sure Pam can't either.

But, what will stop the wedding? a) Pam taking the internship in New York and pisses Roy off. (Will Jim be working out of the corporate headquarters for a few episodes as part of the big move?)

b) This is my favorite: You know how the camera crew helped Pam figure out the Baby Ruth connection between Dwight and Angela? I think the crew will step in somehow to help move Pam and Roy apart. Maybe Roy fools around and it's caught on tape? Or, the film crew leaves a DVD montage of Jam moments for Pam? I don't know, but I like the idea. The film crew is watching this just like we are, and they must be shaking their heads and routing for Jim and Pam, right?

That is all ... and it's more than enough.

Feb 23rd 2006

Or, the film crew leaves a DVD montage of Jam moments for Pam?

Omigosh, Cat Party, what a freakingly great idea. Would I cry buckets at that scene or what.

Feb 23rd 2006

That'd be KEY

This would be an awesome idea Cat Party (I just have a feeling it's going to be a long time before the documentary is revealed to anyone in the office).

Another good one. I think there's a good chance we're going to be hit with a "shock and awe" storyline involving Pam/Roy (like above).

Feb 25th 2006

Considering there is going to be a 3rd season, I don't think Pam will take the internship yet...

It's weird because the UK series was only 14 episodes and this one is goin to be streched over 3 (maybe more) seasons, so it's hard to tell what will happen.

I personally think that Jim will try leaving, but Michael will give him a higher rank like what happened in the UK version.

As for other spoilers, I was reading the sides from "Bring Your Daughter To Work Day"... was anyone else practically on the verge of crying?

Little Michael on Tape: I want to get married and have a hundred kids and a hundred friends so nobody can say no to being my friend!

And then later on the kids in the Office ask Michael if he's married, and he says no, and they ask him if he has children, and he says no. It's really quite sad. :(

But obviously, Michael DOES want to get married and have a family life. :[

Hence, why Jan and Michael must reproduce (on accident).

Feb 25th 2006

i believe in the UK version the camera crew DID step in between Dawn and Tim (Pam and Jim)

Do you have any idea why Dawn didn't leave Lee at the end of Series 2? Was it just to torture us? BBC America in an interview with Lucy Davis (who plays dawn (pam))

Lucy Davis: I think that the torturous thing was that if Tim had asked Dawn a week before she would have probably said yes. But when he asked her she had already organized the whole Florida trip. She handed her notice in, they'd booked their flights, and they were off to start a new life there.

I think it was just too big a thing for her to go, "Yes," to Tim and, "Oh by the way, Lee. Cancel the flights, cancel your life." Lee had just canceled his job. I don't think she could have done that. She was too far in, and I think he was just a bit late.

in this case Lee would be roy...it takes a little interpretation: http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/theoffice/

Feb 25th 2006

im sorry fellas....i found this story about how Dawn and Tim hooked up in the BBC version

ok in the interests of you guys i have changed all the BBC names to the American names and i have changed all places so they will fit...pretend this is something youll read in like, a year, in reflection upon how JAM finally began....

Pam and fiance Roy left Scranton at the end of series two to live with family in Florida. Pam found this life choice good for her tan but not much good for anything else. Could it be that she missed flirting with Jim?

When the documentary crew offered to fly Pam and Roy back to Scranton for Christmas they accepted. It was almost as if the crew knew fate had something in store for Pam. After leaving the Dunder-Mifflin Christmas party Pam had a moment of clarity. She decided to dump Roy and run into the arms of her long time admirer, Jim Halpert.

hopes this helps...

Feb 26th 2006 edited

Tanster, thanks for the tv guide synopsis on Dwight's Speech. NBC states that "Jim tries to escape from Scranton" being intentionally ambiguous about whether he's leaving temporarily (vacation) or permanently (quit or transfer from Dunder-Mifflin). Looking back at the old synopsis's tv guide is always the more detailed.

I don't think Jim will try to escape Scranton for good until later......Poor guy, I can already feel his pain.

Feb 26th 2006

Blake, you are most welcome.

I am always scouring the Web for the latest Office tidbits....

Greg Daniels said this in a recent article:

"Once the show's conceit (a documentary filmmaking crew is chronicling the life of an audience) wears thin, "The Office" will change, slightly. "The show they're in will start airing," Executive Producer Greg Daniels says. "It's hard to go back from that. So, I would try and really exhaust all the potential in this current situation before doing that, which could be a couple of epsiodes from now."

Take that for what it's worth. I'm not going to take it literally ("the couple of episodes from now" part), but it's interesting that Daniels admits that the the documentary conceit will eventually runs it's course. Perhaps soon.

Mar 7th 2006

Oh man... does this mean that the documentary will indeed be what makes Pam leave Roy?

Mar 8th 2006

Oooh - thanks for the info., Blake. I'd never heard this before. I can see them using the whole documentary to bring Pam and Jim together, just as PWJ said. Maybe the cameras will catch Roy with another woman down in the warehouse (I can't believe that so many of us ~ myself included ~ have brought up the scenario of Roy cheating on Pam and actually seem to be rooting for it. Makes me feel a little bit cheezy, like I'm part of a Jerry Springer studio audience...and yet it seems to fit here, so I'm willing to roll with it for a bit :-) It will also give us opportunity to perhaps see more situations outside the office. I love the office scenes, obviously, but whenever they take a field trip and you get to see everyone in different clothes and in different settings, it adds a different dimension to it - just like when you see your real co-workers outside of work.

I agree. I feel wierd pulling for Roy getting caught cheating but it does work here. It's easier to justify now since they're not married.

It would be even quirkier if Pam and Roy get married and Jim still fawns over her. That would have to stop so I don't see a wedding taking place.

The question for me is will Jim actually go or will it get cancelled somehow. They dropped a hint when Oscar made a comment about doubting Jim will really go anywhere.

Ryan, not Oscar. :) Oscar only cares about his thermostat temperature.

Maybe The Office will become Newlyweds: Jim and Pam! OK, maybe not. Smiles!

does anyone think there will be a roy bachelor party with michael crashing and then hilarity (and disaster) ensuing?

i think they have sufficiently setup roy as a slimy guy who would mess around (maybe he already is)...

also, talking about that casting sides site, the whole bit where stanley "talks" with ryan is hilarious (from take your daughter to work)!

"stanley yelled at me today. that was one of the most frightening experiences of my life." - ryan

i love that ryan tries hitting on every chick in the office, then his reputation (& a vengeful kelly?) gets him in trouble!

that was actually in the abby script, not melissa's (stanley's daughter).

Mar 11th 2006

Ooohhh.... possible spoiler info: There's new pictures on Jenna's MySpace of the last day of filming for the season.

If everything is as it appears, it may be that the finale is not a wedding or a trip to Australia. If they were indeed filming the finale, everyone is in their typical office-wear, and Jenna is still wearing the engagement ring. I wonder if they are saving all the Jim/Pam stuff for the beginning of season 3. If they follow real time, by May we wouldn't necessarily know if the wedding will go on or not. I could see them coming back at season 3 with a talking head of John or Steve telling us that the wedding was postponed or something.

Mar 11th 2006

Stella Thank you. I noticed that as well this morning. I too don't think the season finale will be a wedding episode. Keep in mind though, the finale was not the last episode shot (per Angela's blog). They just finished up shooting the extra episode that NBC gave them. Obviously, it will be aired before the season finale.

Mar 11th 2006 edited

Thanks Blake, you're right! That gives me a little hope, because I was a little sad to think the last episode would be just another day at their desks. Not that it would be boring, because it's The Office, but I am still hoping for a little unusual excitement.

Also, did you see the photograph of Pam (Jenna) & Angela outside in the cold. What's the first thing you notice about Pam? (I commented on it)
