Summary courtesy of NBC:
LOVE ALWAYS GETS IN THE WAY-- OSCAR NOMINEE AMY RYAN (“GONE BABY GONE”) GUEST STARS—Pam (Jenna Fischer) is embarrassed when she is the only person at corporate wearing a costume on Halloween. Holly (guest star Amy Ryan) and Michael (Golden Globe winner Steve Carell) take the long trip to Nashua after they get some shocking news from corporate. Meanwhile, Dwight (Rainn Wilson) torments Andy (Ed Helms) and tries to get under his skin. John Krasinski, B.J. Novak, Ed Helms, Leslie David Baker, Brian Baumgartner, Kate Flannery, Mindy Kaling, Angela Kinsey, Oscar Nunez, Creed Bratton and Craig Robinson also star.
That is going to leave a big hole in the show.
You mean Karen's coming back? Ooh! Yess! Facial!
Isn't this the episode that Stephen Merchant directed?
Why are you asking us? You're the one that would know.
ETA: OT says the director is Dave Rogers.

Dave Rogers the editor? That's cool. I thought I read somewhere that Merchant was directing the Halloween episode.

Yeah, couldn't you have just called and asked him?
How much do you want to bet Pam's Halloween embarrassment amounts to 38 seconds of screen time at the beginning and 14 more at the end?
Also, fare thee well Flax. We barely knew ye.

You think that much? I give it the cold open and then never mentioned again.
What if they just flash on her in her costume for a single frame and then cut to commercial and then pre-empt the episode entirely for a My Name Is Earl rerun?
Maybe it will be mentioned obliquely, like you'll overhear Dwight talking to Jim in the background saying "Did you hear what Pam did at Corporate?" and that will justify the whole tease.
It was a crumpled up piece of paper in the writer's meeting that never made it on to the board.

Nope, it will be for a Kath and Kim marathon.

Are college film students suddenly running the network now?
In the Ingmar Bergman-helmed episode, Michael will be trying to return to his condo in the midst of a plague, all the while doubting the existence of God in a meaningless universe. Then, in the Jean-Luc Godard-directed episode, Jim and Pam will go on an existential crime spree to escape the bourgeosis commercialism of early 21st century America. And finally, in the Akira Kurosawa episode, everyone will break out into samurai battles for control of the office, with Dwight as the mysterious stranger who plays competing sides off one another for his own amusement.
You see? College is good for some things (not comedy, obviously)

Can this be done with light sabers? Thanks.
I'm really looking forward to this episode because of Steve Merchant.
Does anyone know when we're gonna get another hour-long episode?
THIS IS JUST SPECULATION, because I don't think that has been revealed.
I imagine the hour longs will be Christmas, post-Super Bowl, eventual wedding (March/April? Sweeps?), and finale (assuming the show isn't super lame and has the wedding being the finale or Jam break up because Pam cheats on Jim).
It also probably won't be for a while, since 30 Rock is returning this week... those stupid NBC peons need to give 30 Rock a long extended run without breaks to make up for this 6 week delay.
Jam break up because Pam cheats on Jim
This. Will. Never. Happen.
Agreed...The Office is anything but a cliche sitcom. I'm sure that Jim and Pam will stay together for the remainder of the show
When the hourglass strikes three...
I feel bad for Michael right now, but I see where Holly is coming from. This bites.
I loved the first ten minutes of this episode, and it slowly got more and more awkward/depressing. Sadness.
Very sad indeed. Dwight/Andy was kind of fun though...but an allusion to what it will be like if they ever end up fighting over Angela.
