No one has commented on this one, and it deserves comment. I love Dwight spanking her in "The Injury." If the will-they won't-they thing with JAM get's stale and annoying(as in Ross and Rachel, Amy and Ephram, Lois and Clark, etc., etc.), we will always have Dwangela.
Call me crazy, but I actually find their relationship to be cute...they are perfect for one another!

I know, if Dwight can find love, then this earth is a special place. I want to know what their dates are like ...
Hi! I am a new poster. Great site James!
My two cents: While Jim and Pam are America's sweethearts, Dwight and Angela are even more perfect for one another. Also, the comedic potential is enormous.... nobody wants to see Jim and Pam fight, but just imagine the passive-aggressive office warfare if Dwangela (even temporarily) splits up.
It's a writer's goldmine! :)
Haha...wow, I hadn't even thought of what sort of Armageddon could result from any strife between them.
But yeah, I think that they are good for each other...each has such a militant relationship to the rest of the world; they have each other to bring out their tender side.
That bobblehead was just an amazing gift. It was so perfect for him...Jim and Pam had me at "mixed berry"; the bobblehead is what did it for me with these two.
I have to thank Dwight and Angela for imprinting irreversible sexual imagery on to my brain that pops up every time I see Birkenstock clogs...
ME=LOIN YOU=DEAD said just imagine the passive-aggressive office warfare if Dwangela (even temporarily) splits up.
It would be hilarious to see them break up but still have their relationship unknown, and have petty ways of get back at eachother, while everyone else is there with them.
Do you think Dwangela have revealed themselves to the cameras? A couple things seem to indicate it. In GWH, when Michael wonders if Angela is gay, Dwight grins right at the camera as he says "I don't think so." And Angela's "grow a pair" talking head in 3.03 would seem to suggest that she was asked point-blank about the coup; I can't think of what she could've been asked that would have prompted that response.
That's a good question Nathan. I was wondering that as well during the "subtle" kitchen talk in Coup. I'm sure they could possibly fool their officemates into believing they're just getting coffee (even though neither of them even touch the counters) since no one really cares. But it'd be suspending disbelief to think that they are that naive thinking that the people with the large cameras who watch them (and listen to them) don't notice those sorts of things.
But then again, maybe they are that self-absorbed and narcisistic (sp?). Because you'd think that if the camera's caught a confession like that, we'd have seen it by now. The "grow a pair" comment could have arose from as subtle a question as "What do you think of Dwight's friendship with Michael" or possibly even more general, and the dear Monkey simply had an outburst (I know, gasp).
Unflinchingly Rigid: The waffling poster.

Ironic, given your name.
I've had my share of ambivalence as well since this season started.
Is the end of the Dwight/Angela romance near? She obviously wasn't too impressed with his groveling or his "I will make a difference" response to her "we will make a difference". I think having them break up could be pretty funny. They were awkward enough dating, imagine if they were mad at each other.

I completely agree, JLJ. I think the writers will eventually explore that - or at least they should. :o) Although, wasn't there a deleted scene that hasn't been shown where Angela tells Dwight she's "late"? Maybe they'll go that way instead.
Scary.
And speaking of scary, I wouldn't want Angela mad at me. So Dwight needs to step lightly.
In GWH, when Michael wonders if Angela is gay, Dwight grins right at the camera as he says "I don't think so."
Going back and watching that scene, Dwight isn't intentionally grinning at the camera. The camera just picks it up. He's grinning to himself while looking at Michael.
The Dwight/Angela chemistry is starting to get a little stale to me. At this point, I think there's more potential in the breakup and its fallout than in doing what they've been doing for almost a full season.

I agree.
And just generally it seems that both Angela and Dwight have become more exaggerated this season, sometimes to the point of ludicrousy. And when put together it's even more evident. Angela has always been judgemental and uptight, but now she's just a plain b*tch! I don't get where the writers are going with that.
It's weird that Angela seems wound even tighter this season, given the fact that her appearance is actually softer. At least, she's been dressed a little nicer than previous seasons.
Agree with everything the three previous posts said. I thought she looked really pretty in The Coup if you could look past the supreme bitchiness. I'd like to see them dial back the Dwight/Angela storyline for a while, but the commercial I saw last night for Grief Counseling featured them prominently. Seems like the writers have amped up this relationship to make up for the missing Jim/Pam relationship.

I think that several months later this still applies. I am not really interested in them staying a couple. I know they may not do much more with the relationship even if they remain a couple since, despite what anyone may want to believe, Angela is still really just a supporting character. Not that I don't think she is important to the show...
Anyway, I don't think there's much more humor to be gained on the Dwangela coupling.
What do you all think?
I think I've actually started to not be grossed out by them. I thought they were even sort of cute (gasp) in the Christmas episode. I don't think they're especially funny, but I like their scenes together and don't want them to break up or anything. Fight a little, maybe, but not break up.
I thought they were even sort of cute (gasp) in the Christmas episode.
I agree with this, but I agree with CE and the original quote even more. I think a Dwight/Angela breakup would make for a fascinating storyline. They're so awkward in the office as a couple, imagine if they broke up and hated each other? Then maybe we could see a scene of Pam comforting Angela to parallel the Dwight comforting Pam scene.
If they do stay together, I think it's time for them to be outed. I'm sure the writers can create some comedy gold from that situation.
I take it back! I take it back! Dwight and Angela rule. Angela is going to absolutely destroy Andy, and it's going to be fun to watch. Although it was kind of crappy of Angela to have Dwight quit the job he loves just so their relationship stayed secret. Will Pam have a role in bringing Dwight back? Because you know he'll be back at some point.

Hee hee, that's what I just said in the episode thread! I agree, I am now okay with them again! :)

I don't think Angela made Dwight quit. He knew what she wanted and decided he loved her more than he loved the company. He might have been more afraid of the consequences from an angry Angela than leaving Dunder-Mifflin, though, so I guess in a way, she did make him quit.
I have to say, after "the look of death" I would be more afraid of Angela than unemployment.
2CTC, after a rewatch I changed my mind and I'm more inline with your thinking. I think he made his decision independently. Someone, can't remember who, made a comment in the episode thread that she might not have known he was quitting, she looked pretty distressed when he started his speech. Maybe she thought he was going to reveal their relationship and he surprised her.
I wonder -- Dwight says that women are like wild animals. Maybe that's just Angela. Because I think she's going to rip out Andy's jugular with her teeth.
Because I think she's going to rip out Andy's jugular with her teeth.
I never thought I'd say this...GO ANGELA!
Getting flanked on all sides by Angela, Pam, and Jim? Andy's so effed.
I can't decide if I really like, or despise, the way that Angela thinks she's so sly but is so utterly transparent. I know I don't like anything else about her . . . except that she's funny. (But not on purpose, so . . . paradox.) Anyway. I kind of love Dwight, and he and Angela seem perfect for each other, but I just don't like her one teeny, tiny bit, and not in the way I don't like Ryan (I think he's a dick), but in the sense that I think she's a bad person. Anyway.
