Discuss all things Ram.

Feb 20th 2006

Whenever I hear Ram I think of Team Ramrod!

Super Troopers, anyone?

Feb 20th 2006

Not Poy?

If Roy/Pam dis-engage, do you think Roy will stay at Dunder Mifflin?

Absolutely! Think of all the tension that would create! Good television.

If the wedding's called off (I anticipate that it will be) I definitely see Roy staying at DM. Keep in mind, Pam/Roy have been together for 10 years. You won't see them have a clean break up/divorce. I think Roy will still turn up periodically. I also think it will take Pam a lot of time to get over Roy and move on. I can see the writers using most (if not all) of Season 3 to do this.

Feb 21st 2006

Is it just me, or does the word "Ram" just sound like the feeling that comes to mind when you see these two together? Ya know, just a bit grating and annoying, and kinda out of place?

Feb 21st 2006

I'm sorry, but "RAM" has "JAM" beat as the best couple name ever. :-)

Seriously? I can't believe she's stayed with Roy so long -- no wonder "World's Longest Engagement" cuts like a knife!

Jun 6th 2006

My cousin is getting married on this Saturday, the 10th. The wedding date. No connection.

Jun 6th 2006

I say we all wear black on that day.

"Roy and Pam! It's RAM! It's a RAM!"

Oct 12th 2006

So isn't Roy supposed to try to win back Pam soon? Is he actually supposed to do something and make a grand gesture to win her back, or do they just mean that he's lost weight and he looks better? I don't think Extreme Physical Makeover = Attempt to Win Back Ex-Fiance (I mean, maybe it does to him, but I'm saying that I wonder if he'll do something else). I'm wondering, too, if this was one of those intentionally-dropped "spoilers" from the people involved with the show. Or if it's along the lines of the "Pam stages a lunchtime fashion show" description from last week, which basically meant nothing more than "Pam tries on a new shirt."

Just wondering...it's a slow day.

Oct 12th 2006

I dont know what Win Back Ex-Finance will exactly entail, but have you seen the NBC summary for the new episode today? Looks like Ram + Karim are gonna be in full force. Say bye bye to Jam...for now at least.

Oct 12th 2006

Jenna Fischer said that this season we'll be seeing some of the chemistry that got Roy and Pam together in the first place. I don't expect big gestures, but if she's been feeling ignored and stagnated, I'm guessing that Roy will at least try and make her an emotional priority again.

As much as I hate it, I could see this lasting for most of the season. (Jim, I miss you!)

Oct 12th 2006

I'm not exactly going out on a limb with this prediction, but I can see Pam and Roy start to re-connect a little, and Jim and Karen getting close and on the verge of something romantic, then...merger, love rectangle, drama, angst.

It would be interesting to get a more insight on Roy this season and get a little more of an idea on what Pam saw in him that kept them together for nine years.

Jeez, I hope not. Seriously, I would rather see Pam just outright marry Roy than go down this road. We've seen it before, it's been done more times than I can count on other shows, and...well, it's just yucky.

I would actually really like this. I'd like to believe there was something that drew her to him. I'd really like to believe that it started well and just ended up...where it did.

Roy strikes me as the kind of guy who would have been a lot of fun to be around in high school, which is when (I think?) Pam first started dating him. He probably played around a lot and made her laugh, just like Jim would later do. But he got complacent with Pam, and never really matured beyond his glory years of playing against Piss Slop Whocaresa.

I have a lot of sympathy for Roy, despite how much of a tool he usually is. I'm not saying Jim isn't a thousand times better, but I feel like I can see how Roy got shaped as a human being.

Oct 12th 2006

Agree with your first point, LT, it does seem like a rather unoriginal plot line for a show that usually does things differently, but that's the direction they seem to be headed in.

I stumbled across this thread, and have now come into it to barf everywhere.

BAAARRRRFFFF!

That is all.

Feb 9th 2007

I think you got some on my shoe.

Feb 12th 2007

I've known a few Roys. Great guy-friends, good people to know. But they are just horrible, crappy, terrible boyfriends.

Feb 12th 2007

The acronym RAM says it all : animal-like, brutish, forceful, probably painful.

I was looking back in this thread and Blake made this comment almost a year ago, last Feb. 21st. He/she was remarkably accurate with that prediction, especially since it was made well before the events of Casino Night. Just thought it was interesting.

Feb 12th 2007

it's just a rebound-Ram!

Feb 16th 2007

I'm not a fan at all of the Roy/Pam rekindling, but if we have to go through it, I'm hoping we get to see her once and for all, no questions about it, tell him it's over and it always will be. That would somewhat make up for not being able to see any of the time around the wedding breakup. She seemed to be able to see through his facade last night, hopefully that will propel her to end things within the next couple episodes.

Feb 16th 2007 edited

And I hope when she does break it off this time, there's no "let's be civil and be friends" like there is this time, because it obviously doesn't work for them. I hope she's mean about it, too - not because I want Roy to suffer, but because I think it would be a huge step in the right direction for Pam to put an end to this, once and for all, and in a big way. She needs to totally break free of this relationship for her own best interests. Seeing Roy's soul get crushed would just be an added benefit.

edit: I forgot that Roy doesn't really have a soul, so...I guess I meant that seeing him get trampled in general would be the added bonus.

Feb 16th 2007

I hope she's mean about it, too - not because I want Roy to suffer,

Come on, that's part of it, no?

Feb 16th 2007

Agree with everything you said LT.

Yeah, I'm pretty much done hoping with Pam. Authorial Hand Man likes to make her do the least positive thing at any given juncture -- so now she'll probably actually get married to him.

I hope she's mean about it, too - not because I want Roy to suffer

I do. Does that make me a bad person?
