*Too much nice.
*This coffee's horrible, what is it, instant?
*Dwight going into the animal descriptions and Michael's "Oh no, not this again."
*Oscar's chart of symmetry was funny.
*So was Jim's erotic whispering to Kevin.
*Again no one listens to Jim try to manage.
*Toby's appearance was good

This is one I'm sure I will like and appreciate more on a rewatch.

This all makes me ponder something which I probably shouldn't talk about in this thread.

I would like to talk about it too but I do not want to go back to that place where you are surely going.

Seriously, what happened to Dwight since he met Jan for breakfast that IHOP is now a command economy eatery?

Did they eat at IHOP that time?

Jan 22nd 2009 edited

Didn't they? Maybe I just assumed that. Now I must find out.

eta: According to Officequotes, they don't say where they ate. But he was eating pancakes, and it's not like you can just get those anywhere. Or were they waffles. Stupid memory loss.

I wonder if Hilary Swank watches the show. Probably not after tonight, huh?

I'm a little surprised they used a real person. They could have accomplished almost the same thing by making up a girl who works in a nearby coffee shop or a waitress at Poor Richard's or a new receptionist Bob Vance just hired.

I loved, loved the fact that they got to use Michael Scarn so effectively! Such a great callback. It's moments like that, that make me so happy that I'm a long time fan, and can be in on the joke.

You are such a socialist.

Oh my, I died laughing. And I loved Dwight's shark imitation. There were a lot of laugh out loud moments for me tonight. (and for a change, it wasn't your mom.) Welcome back BJ!

Also, CGB, I really liked what you said about Michael and his dilemma, and how it was resolved. I was surprised that he went ahead and gave The Wall, (again, that made me laugh so hard...The Wall...oh Mike, you're so positively in now), and I agree that it was a very smart thing for them to do with this episode.

Looks like they are building towards something very interesting happening to Michael career-wise. I hope so, that could really be fascinating.

I'm definitely getting this feeling too, and am looking forward to where it goes.

Dwight hates IHOP why would he choose to meet Jan there. They never specified the restaurant they ate at as an IHOP.

Yeah. I told Tiger this is like Safety Training where I got more excited about it the more I watched it.

I would like to talk about it too but I do not want to go back to that place where you are surely going.

Well what I was pondering involved a certain person who one of his aliases rhymes with Finger Smell.

No, I don't think they did.

Gah, I adore callbacks.

Well, they wouldn't have a large number of photos to use as visual aids. Also, not hot.

Don't get sassy, Buttlicker. I can use my Mod powers to change your name to something really embarrassing if-- well, I, never mind.

Okay did anyone else feel like Dwight has gotten a bit braver or something. Especially during the car ride the Prine Family Paper he was incredibly brash while undermining Michael. It was like Did I Stutter "Give me control" times a billion.

Am I just blowing this out of proportion?

Didn't meant to be sassy CGB. Just frank.

Dwight hates IHOP

I loved how they bickered over it, like an old married couple.

Jan 22nd 2009

Am I just blowing this out of proportion?

No, but your mom is.

Jan 22nd 2009

I loved when Michael was helping that little girl with her math and he said something like, "why is that two so small". I almost choked when he said that.

Jan 22nd 2009

No, but your mom is.

Oh, snap yo!

Jan 22nd 2009

Hot diggity, VG.

Didn't meant to be sassy CGB. Just frank.

Who's Frank?

Jan 22nd 2009

Who's Frank?

Ask Kathy Lee.

Jan 22nd 2009

No, but your mom is.

Hey leave my mommy out of this. You guys don't realize I'm only 17 and live at home, my mom is sitting on the couch beside me. She could look over and see that, you're gonna hurt my mom's feelings.

Jan 22nd 2009

Who's Frank?

Maybe that's who Buttlicker's mom is blowing?

Ooops

Jan 22nd 2009

She could look over and see that, you're gonna hurt my mom's feelings.

And your screen name wouldn't? wink wink

Guuuuuys!

And your screen name wouldn't?

My mom watches the show too. She understands the reference.

Maybe that's who Buttlicker's mom is blowing?

Good call.

Jan 22nd 2009

:'(

Jan 22nd 2009

Dear Mama Buttlicker,

I apologize for my crass and less than wholesome comments concerning your virtue.

Except the opposite of that.

Love ya--mean it!

VG

Jan 22nd 2009

Yikes, that was a little rough.

Jan 22nd 2009

waits for it

Jan 22nd 2009

Don't get your feelings hurt, Buttlicker. Here on NA, no one's mom is safe.

Jan 22nd 2009

Good, not great. Having read some of the comments here I know I need to re-watch because I totally missed some of the jokes. I loved the Hilary Swank plot. Totally pointless, no one listening to Jim, I loved that! And Kevin! Kevin hit it out of the park tonight. I adore everything about him. And I loved hearing everyone's vote, especially Toby's reaction. But the Micheal ethical dilemma, meh.
