The Watercooler is powered by Vanilla, the sweetest forum on the web.
Admit it, we all have the same symptoms. We might as well share with one another how we're dealing with the best show on television not being on.
This site (and the Watercooler - thanks, James!) have helped ease the pain...it put a little Country Crock on my injury, if you will ;-) Seriously, I love sharing quotes and stories with other people who enjoy the show as much as I do.
Starting with "Booze Cruise" through "Valentine's Day" we had six straight new episodes. It's not easy going 3 weeks without a new show. It could be worse though - in the summer we'll have to endure a few months without the Dunder-Mifflinites.
Yeah...I've had a sudden influx of work to do, and that's kept me busy, but I still miss my Office.
The Office section at fanfiction.net has helped. I've also been watching the Olympics. I've never liked the winter olympics much but I'm now addicted to downhill skiing and snowboarding :)
For those of us who watch Lost, we've been getting used to breaks in the action, but The Office was my weekly fix of zany comedy, and it feels like it's been forever since I've seen an episode. I've been relegated to watching a downloaded version of the Client over and over again. It's still hilarious though.
Even though tonight isn't even a Thursday, it feels like an Office night. Man.
I totally agree, Nathan! The Season 1 DVD has taken up permanent residence in my PC, and I've downloaded all the Season 2 eps from iTunes. You know a show is amazing when you sit there for 10 minutes trying to decide which episode you want to watch because they're all soooo good! :)
Hurry, March! I can't take the separation anxiety for much longer!
The Office section at fanfiction.net has helped.
Sigh. I never thought I'd be so into a show that I'd start perusing fanfic. But I headed over to that site, and some of the stories are actually really good. Either that or the subject matter makes it seem that way.
Plain White Jim, I know what you mean. I always thought that fanfiction was corny, but a lot of the stories are good. then again, it might just be the withdrawal talking :)
Wow! I haven't read any fanfic since I became obsessed with Ron & Hermione from the HP series (yes, I am a big geek, but a cute one!) Some of these stories are really well-written, and it does take the edge off the withdrawl, just a bit! :)
I've been burning through entire seasons of 24 over the hiatus. For those of you who aren't familar with the show (not too many of you, I'm guessing), each season is basically a sequence of 24 cliffhangers. It's ridiculously addictive, and it's wrecking my sleep schedule. Time flies when you're watching Jack Bauer beat everyone senseless.
TV on DVD will be the end of me.
If The Office is the best thing to happen to Thursday nights, then Olympic hockey is the greatest thing that happens every four years. I'm a huge fan of the NHL game, but Olympic hockey is truly hockey at its best. So my Office withdrawal isn't too bad because I've been way too busy cheering on Team USA.

Today's game against Finland is going to be tough. We get way too many chances that we don't take.
James, stop talking about 24! -- I do not want to get addicted to another TV show! ;)
It's bad enough with The Office, Lost, Prison Break....any Prison Break fans out there?
I had never seen any of the Season 1 episodes, so I bought the DVD and have been watching those.
Tanster- Prison Break fan checking in for duty! I'm glad that the show is coming back (I haven't missed it, have I?).
Hey Angie, fellow Prison Break fan! :)
No, you haven't missed any. It's coming back sometime in March.
Channel FX will run a Prison Break marathon on March 19th from noon - 7pm!
There are also new videos up on the official site -- good stuff!
I'm a huge fan of the NHL game, but Olympic hockey is truly hockey at its best.
I'm a big fan of hockey myself, though of the Dallas Stars, so I'm not sure if that counts. Hockey in the middle of Texas just seems kind of bizarre. Naturally, I'm a big Mike Modano fan, and even though Derian Hatcher doesn't play for us anymore, he's still my favorite defenseman to watch. I tuned in to the Team USA loss to Slovakia a few days ago, and boy, what a game. Exciting stuff.
I think I'll just have to download some episodes onto my computer, as my DVR's hard drive mysteriously erased all the eps I'd saved. 'Twas a wicked blow. Also, thanks to Nikki (Very Good Bread), I can now check out some Office transcripts at twiztv.com (I think that's the link she provided.)
Team USA
They are done. I didn't expect much, but how could they play so poorly on both ends.
1-4-1. Very ugly.
tanster:
I watched the last few episodes of Prison Break to see if they finally escaped or not. I'm excited when it comes back in March. But if you watch Prison Break, then you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO WATCH 24! Like James said, it's ridiculously addictive, and I became a huge fan when I watched Season 4 on the computer addictively. So I haven't even had the chance to watch the old seasons (in college, studying for exams...etc) I WILL reserve that for the summer. Anyways, Jack Bauer should be everyone's hero and he kicks a lot of butt. Once Prison Break comes back, then you'll have a kickass Monday night of TV! Can't wait! Though nothing can beat my Office withdrawal!
Sandy, NOOOOOOO!
(Desperately tries to hang on to the door jam as Sandy and James attempt to drag her out to 24-land....)
;)
My excuse is that I am too far behind to get hooked on 24 now. My poor little brain can only take so much stimulation.
Although a kickass Monday night of TV does sound enticing....
It's enticing isn't it? It's okay, it's times like these (Olympics taking away our precious Office) that you can fill your time with 24! I haven't even seen season 1-3. Well, catch up after season 5 is over, then you can really enjoy it all, with no breaks, unlike the unbearable Office withdrawal right now...
How awesome would it be to see Jack Bauer storm The Office?
Todd Packer: "what's up my nerdz!"
Jack Bauer: Knocks him out
Ah I just watched on NBC.com the commercials that The Office did, to advertise that they'll be back after the Olympics. It's GREAT!!!! Wow it helped with the withdrawal that much more! Oh they crack me UP!
Oscar: "I showed him (Michael) my passport like 3 times"
Todd Packer: "what's up my nerdz!"
Jack Bauer: Knocks him out
ROFL!
Yeah, that commercial is great -- James has also seen one where Michael is playing hockey and body checks Toby!
Todd Packer: "what's up my nerdz!"
Jack Bauer: Knocks him out
Dwight: "I could disable him in SECONDS. Correction. Sensai could disable him in SECONDS. Arigato."
My excuse is that I am too far behind to get hooked on 24 now. My poor little brain can only take so much stimulation.
Take it from me: the seven-episode-a-day plan works wonders. At that rate, you'll be caught up in a matter of weeks! You know you want to...
Todd Packer: "what's up my nerdz!"
Jack Bauer: Knocks him out
Effing brilliant. I sense crossover potential. For those of you that are fully caught up with the show, you might enjoy the Jacktracker (potential spoiler alert).
Dwight: "I could disable him in SECONDS. Correction. Sensai could disable him in SECONDS. Arigato."
Sandy, omigosh, I can't stop laughing! Are you a writer?
And James, you are truly evil.
1-4-1. Very ugly.
Yes, a 1-4-1 recond looks ugly on paper but I was really satisfied by the effort of Team USA. They really played their best... a lot of the small things simply didn't go their way. Right now the Czechs look like they're going all the way. They're riding a hot goalie and are superb on the power play and penalty kill. They beat Slovakia today 3-1. I read somewhere that Slovakia is known as the Czech's "little brother" when it comes to hockey and that today's Czech vs. Slovakia game would be the biggest day in the history of Slovakia.
I'm a big fan of hockey myself, though of the Dallas tars, so I'm not sure if that counts.
James, as a San Jose Sharks fan myself, I am greatly appalled. But I love the forum and Northern Attack as much as I love the Office itself, so you won't lose any cool points in my book.
