The very best of luck to you, Dwight!
The TVGuide.com synopsis includes one additional detail:
"Dwight wins an award for top salesman of the year, but has to conquer his fear of public speaking when he must give a speech at a big Northeast Sales Association convention. And he turns to the worst possible person for help -- Michael. Meanwhile, Pam makes plans for her wedding at the office, prompting a downcast Jim to plan a vacation; and the staffers battle over the thermostat for control of the office temperature."
Let the hilarity ensue!
They just had a promo for The Office during Deal or no Deal... is Dwight going to be starting a revolution with his speech or something? "We are warriors!"?
Awesome.
WOW....
WOW....
the football sequence....AMAZING. Dwight with the SNEAK TACKLE SACK!
The Michael Scott Laugh Hour is back again...
walks into room "That's what she said".
Grapes is what she said, only she didn't say it, she ate it.
Is public speaking a major anyway?
After today, I think Jim could have a future in teaching "Public Speaking for Prospective Dictators"
SPOILERS, maybe? You should have watched by now
Hey, anyone think that choosing Australia as the place Jim is "getting away from the office" is a nod to the fact that, since it was cancelled there after the first week, that would be a good place to get away from The Office too?
I sort of thought of it in that "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" sense, that Jim would rather go to Australia.
It's amazing what can happen in 20:30.
Quote of the night goes to Kevin...
(referring to Hedonism) It's like Club Med but everyones naked.
This episode had EVERYTHING! Some of the best one-liners the show has had yet.
But Ryan and Jim... oh my god, so cold.
Pam didn't actually set the date for the wedding... And my personal quote of the night, as usual, came from Stanley. "Cancel the wallpaper."
Anyone know the speech Dwight was paraphrasing? Was it the Mussolini speech?
Can't wait to watch this episode again... they consistently get better with each viewing, and I suspect the same with this.
Michael's story about the woman at the bar... and his being able to bridge his entertaining Dwight to Dwight's captivating speech to 1000!
Kalon pointed it out but I forgot, that it was Roy who did it. Thanks Kalon.
I meant that Pam was going through with her wedding plans.
I think there's hope for you Jim/Pam lovers. Jim offered to mail out the invitations, but Pam stopped him. She might decide not to mail them out after all...
Second on the football sequence as the tops of the evening. Taking out Creed and Stanley - delightfully unnecessary...
Poor Kelly, I wanted to give her and Pam a hug by the end. At least we know a woman who has her priorities set right, so cute how Angela faked (OMG!) being sick to see her honey on stage! Is it me or did Ryan have his knickers in a knot. Harsh. Very harsh.
Oh wow am I an idiot! I didn't know that was Angela filming! I figured she was faking sick to see Dwight but totally didn't catch that.
Kevin rocks. Keeping the temp at 69. Hedonism. You have to enjoy Kevin.
Ryan was totally harsh to Kelly. He was honest about how he was feeling, though. Props to him there.
It's nice to have it back. I missed this show so much.
Pam stopped Jim from mailing them because she was mad at him, not because she's not sending them out. Jim did that as the olive branch to say "I don't hate you, I just can't watch you get married", but Pam wasn't going to have any of that.
Dwigt, Pam did stop Jim from mailing them because she was mad, but I think the little scene was also put in there to let viewers know that the invitations haven't actually been mailed out (as that's what we'd infer after they had finished sealing them all.)
Marc, I think you're being way too optimistic here. The invitations may not be sent out yet, but it's quite a stretch to think that Pam will decide not to mail them out. Besides, there are five more episodes left in the season, and the wedding buildup can't end now!
I will give you a point for the orange invitations fight...
So far, the only imput Roy has had about the wedding is June 10th (perfect date according to Kelly) and orange invitations. I guess I'm not much better...my input for most things about my wedding have been "whatever you really want hon" :-P.
Ok, whose heart is breaking for Jim right now? It's obvious everyone in the office knows about his feelings for Pam and are wondering how this is going to play out with the wedding. The guy hasn't left Pennsylvania in 5 years and now he's flying halfway around the world by himself during the exact week when Pam's getting married. And Pam knows it.
Is anyone else getting a little fed up with Pam? This wedding seems to be going forward pretty rapidly. Today I think she was upset because her really close friend isn't coming to her wedding, and the last thing she wanted to do was make him feel uncomfortable about it. I'm not really seeing any real signs of her changing her mind. This is a definite Down for the JPI.
1 - I don't see Jim making that trip. To be honest, it's not even about the "ham and cheese sandwich routine" notion. Jim's too much of a nice guy to do that to Pam. He's the type of guy that backs down and comes to support her, but waits till a week before to call off his trip.
2 - I really don't believe we will see a Roy and Pam wedding. I mean, the writers are too smart for that. Something will happen to postpone it or cancel it, and keep the Jim/Pam ball in play.
Megan There's still 4 more episodes left this season. If the wedding is called off I wouldn't expect it to happen until the season finale. Be patient. :)
Don't forget that Jim made a point of telling Pam that the ticket is non-refundable ... Maybe Jim will leave for Australia thinking that the wedding is going to take place, and Pam will make a last-minute decision to call it off in that two-day period between when he leaves and the wedding date falls. It could happen!
Is it just me, or does it seem weird that Pam mentioned that she would have to be doing a lot of stuff for her wedding at the office? I know they goof off a lot, but is it realistic for her to be blatantly doing her wedding invitations at work?
