Hey folks. Sorry I've been late responding to those of you who have messaged me in the past few days; I've been preoccupied with a project lately, but it's all for a good cause.

Northern Attack is teaming up with Give Me My Remote to launch a campaign for supersizing the upcoming season finale. For those of you who haven't heard the news, Greg Daniels mentioned in a recent interview that he'd like to air an extended season finale. I think this a great idea, and I'm guessing most of you do, too. That's why we've set up an online petition to further the cause. Head on over and show your support. And please, spread the word. We're looking to round up as many quality signatures as possible.

Only 12 minutes after your post...I feel so cutting edge. The petition looks good. If it has the success that the Dwight bobblehead petition had - we should be in good shape for an extra 20 minutes.

Wow, David, I'm impressed!

That's some great stuff. Here's hoping NBC listens.

& 160 fans already! Yay!

Hummin' right along. Just hit 200 at 4:33pm PT (Feb. 27).

Have you guys been reading the comments? -- some of them are really funny. Northern Attack members, no doubt. ;)

Feb 27th 2006

Yeah...I wasn't very witty with mine.

But oh well. At least I got in the first 60.

400 at 7:28am PT (Feb. 28)!

This upsurge was probably a result of Pam's latest blog post.

Feb 28th 2006

Wow, this is nuts.

500 at 9:10am PT!

Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribune has posted a new blog entry about the petition!

Ah, the power of the Office fan base.

That is awesome. Way to go Jennie and James.

Oh, James - thanks for the link.

Thanks, David, but all the credit must go to James.

He created, once again, a beautifully designed site!

Oh, James - thanks for the link.

No problem, David.

Thanks, David, but all the credit must go to James.

Thank you, thank you. I'll happily accept full credit. Seriously, though, it's been a solid group effort. Kudos to tanster for her helpful suggestions and to Kathie at GMMR for the inspiration and getting the word out.

The petition is absolutely flying today thanks to a few mentions (including tanster's link above to Maureen Ryan's blog entry):

And of course to all the fans out there who have taken the time to participate. You guys are phenomenal. 800+ signatures in under two days. Wow. Let's see how far we can get before my hosting company starts complaining to me about excessive traffic.

Awesome! I'm impressed by how widespread and vocal The Office fan base is. James is my hero...along with Bono, God, and Michael Scott :)

"Reason #211 - Stephen Merchant - London, UK

I'm an executive producer, plus I co-created the damn show -- of course I want it supersized!"

Hmm, wonder if it's really him...it'd be cool!

Per Jenna, the online petition may have worked!!!!!

Jenna's blog

"We have lots of great new episodes waiting to run. I think the online petition may have worked because I heard a rumor that NBC approved of the super-sized finale. Don't quote me on that yet. It's just a rumor."

Mar 10th 2006

Woo-hoo! That is totally exciting!

Apr 20th 2006

I posted this in the Media thread, but will post it here, too.

YAY!! Our efforts paid off. NBC has announced that The Office season finale will be supersized...well sorta. It is scheduled to be 40 minutes long. From 9:20 PM - 10:00 PM. on May 11th. Better than nothing. Yippee!

Apr 20th 2006

Us much as I'd like to say that the petition worked, the pessimist in me says that it's the God-awfulness of Four Kings (which I never saw, but just seemed to reek something terrible) that calls for the extension of the other three Thursday night comedies.

Whatever the means, though, it's the end that matters.

Apr 20th 2006

Oh yeah! I just went to GMMR and happened to see this! The description of the season finale eppy written by SC sounds really good. Can't wait!!

Jul 24th 2008

This'll never work.

Jul 24th 2008

Hey, how come Carrell hasn't been writing more episodes? Get going there, Steve.

Hey Plain White Jim, do you know Two Hole Punch Jim?

Jul 24th 2008

Wow, Plain White Jim. There's a blast from the past.

Jul 24th 2008

Hey Plain White Jim, do you know Two Hole Punch Jim?

I know this was a joke, but I seriously have wondered this for some reason.

Jul 24th 2008

Aren't there two "Two Hole Punch Jim"s? I'll check...

Jul 24th 2008

Hey Plain White Jim, do you know Two Hole Punch Jim?

It's like ying-yang...or duality of man

Jul 24th 2008

it's the God-awfulness of Four Kings (which I never saw, but just seemed to reek something terrible)

Wow, one of those really bad sitcoms that was on a few times and then disappeared. I haven't thought about that show in, well, ever. It's like "The Single Guy" or something.

Jul 24th 2008

What I remember most about Plain White Jim is his passionate, outspoken praise of the show that died as the result of...I don't remember what. But he used to love the show and Jim and Pam. And then he didn't.
