YEAH! ALRIGHT! KEEP THAT OPTIMISM TRAIN ROLLING!!! CHOO CHOOOOOOOOOooooooo!!!!

May 12th 2011

I will watch tonight. Then I will watch the two new episodes of Parks & Rec. Then I will go online, check this episode thread, and find no new comments.

May 12th 2011

I have been fasting for a week in preparation for this episode. At 6:00 I will sacrifice twelve virgin garter snakes to The Office Shrine in my bedroom. After bathing my nether regions in distilled glacier water, I will dress myself in a white robe, and then clear a space in the living room with a sapphire hoe. Seated in the lotus position at this spot, I will watch the episode while chanting Gregorian hymns.

So just a normal week I guess.

I'll probably watch, will definitely record the episode, but will flip between the Canucks/Red Wings game and NBC.

I will not miss Coach's Corner. Period.

Per Jinx's requirements I will be unable to watch as I could only acquire 11 Garter Snakes...whose exploits are questionable

Jinx, take it to the How Do You Watch The Office? thread.

Wow, those escort agencies have really classed themselves up, haven't they? Pricey, was she?

May 12th 2011

Oh, Hamnard, will any of us ever care?

May 12th 2011

Not most recently.

May 12th 2011

Can, uh, can we talk about this show yet? Have you guys seen it yet? What did ya'll think of that gunshot plot?

May 12th 2011

Last week I didn't miss Steve Carell at all. This week I did. I don't think this show will work unless they bring in someone from outside to be the boss. For me, anyway. That said, I don't think this was a bad episode at all. I like the way they're being subtle with Hamnard. Almost like a sledgehammer. And pregnant Kelly? No, please.

Kathy Bates looked terrible, like she spent a week with both DC's and Daoust's moms and lost a little bit of her innocence not to mention most of her teeth along the way.

The gunshot was an awful twist. Darryl taking Andy out was like The Bizarro Injury. Andy is probably Erin's birth father. Why would they date? Dwight as boss? Never considered that possibility. I can't believe it's never been explored. What was this episode about? I forget already.

May 12th 2011

It's hard to judge by the last 5 minutes, which is all I saw. That'll have to wait for tomorrow. Still, I felt a bit bad for Dwight from that.

Not much interest in the guest stars for next week, but I was surprised to see Catharine Tate.

May 12th 2011

Kathy Bates did look like she just rolled out of bed in that scene, but if she was with my mom she wouldn't have been able to walk.

I liked the episode. It made me laugh several times which these days is an accomplishment and maybe all I can expect these days.

I too think the episode worked overall, but it had it's weak moments. Mostly, I'm tired of crying Gabe. It's weird that next to Gabe, Andy seems really, really Jim-like and sane.

I liked the stuff with Dwight, the gunshot notwithstanding. That was a poorly contrived plot idea to cause Dwight to lose his position. They could have gone with something a little less in your face, and it would have worked out fine.

I am not confident about next week's episode. At all. But we'll see how it goes.

I enjoyed this episode. As DC said, it made me laugh out loud several times, and there were some genuinely funny spots. Most of what Andy did I didn't want to see, but I did like his short sleeve shirt detail - presumably to suck up to Dwight as boss.

I love Kathy Bates, and the line about the "girl gun." Maybe the plot business with Dwight's gun was a little farfetched, but given his past weaponry in the office, not really that much. I liked that Jim "gave" Dwight a little something at the end. Nice bookend with Dwight "giving" Pam the rules so she didn't fail.

I felt just the opposite. I missed Carell last week, but not this week. But I agree, they probably need to bring in a new character but I have an open mind.

Other than Kathy Bates I haven't been fond of the guest star stuff, so I'm not expecting much next week. The only thing I'm curious about is whether they'll write Jenna Fischer's pregnancy in or not.

May 13th 2011

I liked this episode a lot. Dwight as boss and Jim as foil was excellent and I wish they had explored that for a few more weeks. Gabe makes me cringe but I like it. There was a lot of small bits from all the characters and it seemed like the show was an hour long (in a good way).

Booby shirts!

May 13th 2011

Still uninterested in Gabe.

May 17th 2011

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Dwight as boss and Jim as foil was excellent and I wish they had explored that for a few more weeks.

I do agree with this. I think if they spent a good 4-6 weeks with Dwight as manager it could have been really interesting. A lot more interesting than the no-talent ass clowns they're bringing in next week.
