Dwight (Rainn Willson) tries to help the office's efficiency

So that's still going on, huh?

Nov 3rd 2011

This sounds like a bit of fun.

Nov 3rd 2011

I think things are about to get all zany up in here!! Can't wait for Andy to get flustered when people complain that Dwight will get them all fired. Maybe he will buy them ice cream sandwiches to take their minds off it, or find a free fall elevator in a local mine to ride. Or maybe a casino where chips, rooms, and meals are all comped. Something big!

Nov 3rd 2011

I think you're on to something.

That sounds like the worst.

Nov 3rd 2011

I wish they'd finally explore the big question surrounding Jim and Pam. You know, will they or won't they?

Nov 3rd 2011

I just hope that Andy comes through with that big donation to the music school that he promised them.

Nov 3rd 2011

Narddog's Tots! Who's with me? I think they should just start calling Andy Michael a few times and see if anyone notices.

Nov 3rd 2011

I wish they'd finally explore the big question surrounding Jim and Pam. You know, will they or won't they?

No, they need to draw that out for at least two more seasons.

Nov 3rd 2011

Someone on OfficeTally tried to make the case that the baby and the second pregnancy somehow prove that they "already did." What a bunch of dweebs, amiright?

Nov 3rd 2011

OfficeTally

Is that still a thing?

In the Office tradition, Andy needs to have a relationship with his boss. Michael slept with Jan, and probably would have slept with Ryan.

Nov 3rd 2011

You know, will they or won't they?

Become boring?

Nov 3rd 2011

Too late.

Nov 3rd 2011

n, Andy needs to have a relationship with his boss.

Ha! Bobdawg. Or should it be Nardia?

Nov 3rd 2011

or find a free fall elevator in a local mine to ride.

Say what you want, but that scene was funny at the time, and is ten times funnier than much of what they've done on that show lately.

The Michael-Toby dynamic was always funny because Michael was such a lover, not a fighter, and yet he hated Toby because he ruined all the fun. It might be interesting to find a character that Andy really doesn't jive with as long as it's done in a humorous way. I guess they've been trying to make Andy vs. Gabe the same as the Michael vs. Toby thing, huh? Well it hasn't been as successful or funny in my books.

Robert California? Kathy Bates?

Nov 3rd 2011

Both. At the same time.

That scene was awesome. And I agree it is much funnier than anything from the last 3 seasons, probably. It comes from an outstanding episode, too. I just think if they tried to remake that episode with Andy in the Michael role, it would be horrible. It was funny the first time, doesn't mean it would be funny if you did it again.

Both. At the same time.

Oooh, kinky! JoNardia. Maybe they could throw in a Great Dane or two as well.

Nov 3rd 2011

And a goat on a pig, with two chickens watching.

Nov 3rd 2011

with two chickens watching.

Now that's just too far. Have they no shame?

Nov 3rd 2011

Actually they do have shame but no cerebral cortex. So, win-lose.

Nov 3rd 2011

Well, that sucked.

Nov 3rd 2011

Surprise, surprise.

Nov 3rd 2011

I laughed out loud a couple times (Gabe saying the warehouse girl would be calling her last name out that night and Stanley's "In your butt") so that's something.

Nov 3rd 2011

That was pretty bad.

Nov 3rd 2011

When I was in sixth grade we didn't have a real music teacher but we'd have forty minutes where we'd sing along to songs from the 1970s that our teacher had mimeographed the lyrics to. One of the ones I remember was "Both Sides Now" by Joni Mitchell, because we thought we were the funniest people ever and changed the words:

I've looked at food from both sides now
From in and out and still somehow
It's food's illusions I recall
I really don't know food... at all.

The episodes all fall into this gray area for me. I don't hate them, but they don't excite me much either. There was a germ of a good idea here, but they completely misplayed it. Rather than Dwight inventing the software, why not have California announce that it was a Sabre decree? And let Dwight be the only one who could deactivate it? That way you set up some conflict with the Spader character, which has been lacking so far and give Dwight the decision to give in to his worship of authority or save his coworkers? Instead Spader is given almost nothing to do and the conflict with Dwight could have been solved by Andy threatening to fire him.

Nov 4th 2011

This episode reminded me of the time that one of my co-workers installed a doomsday device on our computers. and we all had to beg him to deactivate it. That was a weird day.

What's with NBC running two shows about the end of the world at the same time. Is it because they knew that Harold Camping was going to retire this week?
