Does anyone have a favorite deleted scene? There are so many to choose from, eh?

Mar 24th 2006

The one from "Diversity Day"

Where Michael explains his acronym-"INCEST"

Mar 24th 2006

I like the extended filming scene from Diversity Tomorrow. Dwight kept counting down (3,2,1, action!) and throwing Michael off. The two of them together are a great combo.

There was one deleted scene where Michael made a vulgar joke to Pam and I am glad that got deleted, it went over the line of good taste.

I love a deleted scene from Diversity Day as well...when Jim puts a "race" card on Dwight's forehead that says "Dwight." And Pam shrugs her shoulders when Dwight asks if he's human.

Jim's expressions are priceless as usual.

Mar 24th 2006

Tapper, if you're referring to the joke in the Pilot, I'm glad that one got deleted too. Spraying on Pam just isn't as funny as waking up at the crack of Dawn.

Mar 24th 2006

I like the Diversity Day deleted scene about Dwight being human, because it explains why Dwight screws Jim over on the sales call. Jim has it coming, and the scene makes Dwight less of a jerk.

PWJ,

Yes, that is the scene I was refering to. This show doesn't need to stoop that low for humor. I understand they are trying to show how obnoxious Michael can be but that line was inappropriate.

It seems from all the deleted scene comments so far that Diversity Day could have been a 1 hour episode.

I like watching the shows with the commentary voice over. It was interesting to hear Mr Brown talking about the show from a writers point of view.

Mar 24th 2006

Another hilarious one I think, comes from the Hot Girl episode, where Ryan and Michael are outside cleaning out MS's convertible. Michael Scott asks Ryan if he has any music he can borrow, Ryan figures out Michael is all talk, appearing to not know much about The Strokes & The Hives, so he throws out some names of fake bands:

Ryan: "Do you like the Fleebles? The Glorps?"

Michael: "Uh huh. Yep. That last thing they did was great."

Ryan looks briefly at the camera. "Yeah, I had a feeling you'd like those."

Another funny one from the same group of deleted scenes is where Jim encourages Dwight to actually put things inside his newly purchased purse just in case Katy is watching. Then Jim intentionally goes into the kitchen where a bunch of co-workers are, and asks Dwight if he can borrow his stapler. Dwight replies that it's in his purse.

There is one deleted scene that I absolutely cannot sit through and it's the one where Michael is standing with Katy at Toby's desk and he is just going on and on about Toby's downfall after his divorce. Oh, you can't help but feel so sorry for Toby! Not one of Michael Scott's finest moments.

Mar 24th 2006

For some reason, I always laugh during the very quick shot (deleted from Diversity Day) that has Toby standing outside with a card that says "West Nile" on his forehead. It makes you wonder if Michael really didn't pre-plan the card selection...

That was a classic Jim/Dwight moment. As you said, patient Jim set that up earlier and then got him later when he'd get mamimum effect.

Ok, one more Diversity Day deleted scene ... :)

After Kelly slaps Michael (which of course he deserved), the office is in shock and the camera pans over to Jim and Pam. Jim says something like "Uh, why did she slap Martin Luther King?"

It kind of diffuses the tension a bit, which I guess is why they left it out. BTW, I also loved that "West Nile" card mentioned above ... it makes no sense whatsoever to be portraying a virus ... totally hilarious .... :D

Mar 24th 2006

My favorite deleted scene is from "The alliance" when dwight and Jim are outside by Jim's car talking, Jim leaves and tells Dwight to wait 10 minutes and then come in, and then tells him to pretend to smoke. SO Dwight pretends to smoke and even throws the invisable cigarette down and puts it out with his foot.

Mar 24th 2006

One of my absolute favorite deleted scenes is from Health Care when Jim and Pam go into Dwight's workspace to ask him about the plan. Jim says, "What if you get a really serious disease like Ebola, didn't you see that movie Outbreak?" To which Dwight replies, "Well did you see Unbreakable, cause I can't get sick like that guy." Jim-"Well did you see The Sixth Sense? Maybe you're already dead."

The last deleted scene from "Hot Girl", when Dwight gives Kelly his purse (obviously still crushed when Katy turned him down). Maybe Angela's infatuation started right there. (she was in the room when Katy shot him down)

Mar 24th 2006

I love one of the scenes from "The Alliance" when Jim says that if he gets Dwight to say "immunity" then that will make his day. Later, Dwight is in talking to Michael and asks if he will grant Dwight immuninty during the downsizing and it cuts to Jim pumping his fists in happiness. I love the expression on Jim and it makes me laugh, but I understand why it was cut. It doesn't really go well with the flow of the show, but since I still love his happiness.

Mar 24th 2006

In the Basketball episode, the last two scenes where you see Kevin making all those 3-point shots and then the one where Michael throws the ball and makes a court shot from almost the entire length.

Mar 24th 2006

Let me describe the perfect date. I take her out to a nice dinner. She looks amazing. Some guy tries to hit on her. Now he wants to fight, so I grab him. I throw him into the jukebox! Then, the other ninja’s got a knife. He comes at me, we grapple, I turn his knife on him. Blood on the dance floor! She’s scared now. I take her home. I’m holding her in my arms. I reach in for a kiss...I hear something in the leaves, I flip her around, she gets a poison arrow right in her back. She was in on it the whole time... but I knew.

How they didn't include this is beyond me.

Mar 25th 2006

I was watching the deleted scenes and another funny one was from "Basketball" when Michael says his nickname could be "the Question" and the whole routine that follows.

Dec 7th 2006

My absolute favorite deleted scene is from The Convention. There is a talking head of Michael where he mispronounces the word Connecticut.

Dec 7th 2006

I loooove the one from Drug Testing when Jim's doing impressions of all the different characters on the show. I could watch that over and over. (I sort of have.)

Dec 7th 2006

Pam and Jim "Winky face" from Sexual Harassment

Dr. David Friendly.

Dec 7th 2006

Pam and Jim "Winky face" from Sexual Harassment

That was VERY sexy, almost too much so. Probably why they decided not to show it.

Dr. David Friendly was great too, especially when Jenna cracks up but Steve is able to keep the scene going. I also like Dwight shooting his spud gun in the warehouse in Boys and Girls, the Vance Refrigeration guys in Valentine's Day, and Michael and Jim in the Hooters store in The Secret.

Dec 7th 2006

My favorite is on The Client when Jim is describing his Worst/Best first date...

Dec 8th 2006

oh yes, Pooped a balloon. that scene was great. That, and "The Toast". People who've seen it know what I;m talking about. I dont think I could have been able to handle that scene that night when Booze Cruise first aired. My heart can only handle so much.

Some JAM scenes were cut for good reason. Some weren't that funny upon a second viewing (I thought Caution Tape+dwight's desk was great at first, and then I realized it wasn't really that funny later.),and some were just redundant ("I can't believe Dwight said 'who wants to come in on a saturday'!" blah blah, etc.) but some of them were pretty good.

I still want the Jim/Roy fist fight from Boys and Girls.

There was a lot of good Jim stuff that got cut, and i wish they had gone more into the Valentine's day love poem to angela.

"My future's so bright, I have to wear.....anything? Anything come to mind?" "Um....goggles?"

Dec 8th 2006

oh,and of course "Jim. Is Jim. My Name is Jim."

Dec 12th 2006 edited

Even though it was a blooper - when Michael says "the students, the professors...the sluts" it is just hilarious. Then he kills it again with "loose chicks". They definitely should have taken that scene again without laughing (if that's possible) and included it.

And of course, the fat accountant award

Dec 12th 2006

Creed playing guitar on Booze Cruise

Dec 13th 2006

Absolute favorite deleted scenes are now number 6 and 8 from "The Convict." Six is probably one of the best things they've ever done (if it counts), and 8's end is great.

Dec 13th 2006

Creed playing guitar was a good one...

I also really love the cut of Dwight and Andy comparing childhoods in the Convict. "13 and a half pounds... my mother couldn't walk for a week." "Nice brag, mutant!"

Jan 15th 2007

The one from "Back from Vacation" when that guy in Corporate is talking to Jan, all the while glancing at that pic of "Jamaica-Jan-Sun-Princess". That dude was funny...but really creepy. That scene also has some great talking heads, like Meredith saying when a woman gets to a certain age, she'll go anywhere with anyone. Something like "I've seen the world..." hahaha. Also Kevin's, where he says something like "I should be turned on, but since my skin cancer scare I hope she was at least wearing sun tan lotion....I'd really like to rub some lotion on her." haha....great stuff!
