I agree that she wasn't planning on telling him she loved him or anything close to that. I think it would have been more of a question designed to test the waters a bit.

And I, to you, in addition, feel the same feelings that you are as well.

Oh, and ST,D, scratch Tango's tummy for me ;o)

Oh my, you just made his night! His nose is literally sitting on my desk as I type this. He's such a flirt.

What St,D isn't telling you is that, while Tango's nose is on her desk, his body is at the other end of the house taking a nap.

That nose has its own zip code!

Jan 19th 2008

Aww, leave Tango and his nose alone. He's adorable!

This sounds like a case for Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.

Wow, who knew that dogs were capable of flipping someone off?

Did he flip me off using his nose? Because that be the bird-flipping to end all bird-flippings!

Tango wonders if there's a reason that you're so fixated on size. ;-)

Jan 19th 2008

Tell him I have Size 14 feet. And you know what they say. Big feet mean...

...big shoes!

um.....duly noted and committed to memory.

Jan 20th 2008

I always heard it as meaning big socks. That applies to shoes, too?

Jan 20th 2008

Big shoes with small socks? Small shoes with big socks? Either way, it's pretty sucky.

Big shoes and big socks go together like PB&J!

But I believe it was something that would tell Jim she wasn't happy with Roy. I don't think she looked at the camera and reconsidered because she was about to confess her love for Jim but because what she was planning to ask would be bad for her so very safe relationship with Roy. Admiting that in front of the camera would make things too real.

Somewhat mirrored by the 27 second moment in Booze Cruise where the conversation begins with her saying "Sometimes I just don't get Roy." Over the intervening four months she managed to gather the courage to say it...and Jim still misses the opening. Idiot!

No, not "idiot". "Coward". And that's got to be worse for him to live with. If the opportunity had gone over his head he'd have had an excuse. But it didn't. He knew this was the moment to say something and he couldn't work up the nerve to do so.

Poor guy.

True and he continues to bail on chances through the second half of S2. While he suffers for it, it's Pam who really pays the price through S3.
It's funny, on the Booze Cruise commentary Rainn Wilson points out that Roy is on the boat with them and would have destroyed Jim if he had done anything like that. His comment is right after Greg Daniels (I think) said he was screaming "Kiss her!" when watching the shoot. Rainn does have a point.

Jan 21st 2008

Is it possible that Pam kissed Jim as a way of showing her appreciation for Jim getting Michael to change the award to "Whitest Sneakers"? Do you think that she, in her drunken state, would have registered that quickly that it was Jim who had played a role in the new Dundie? Or is it more likely that the kiss was just a spill over from drunk girl + happy + nice guy = kiss.

Jan 21st 2008

It was an in vino veritas kiss.

All the handsiness (The Alliance), the deep looks, the shared laughs. She'd wanted to kiss the boy for freakin' ever. Now, with the booze taking the edge off her inhibitions (but not taking away her ability to make a conscious choice - she wasn't falling-down drunk yet), she finally acted on those desires.

The Michael kiss (on the cheek) was just an impulse from joy. The Jim kiss (on the lips, with arms around his neck) was , to coin a phrase, "more than that".

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Jan 21st 2008

That's how I see it, mtt. As a momentary but delicious lapse in judgement, that conveyed her more than friendly feelings for him. Her ususal inhibitions were dampened by the alcohol. If it had been friendly, she would have just nailed him on the cheek like she did Michael just before that.

Jan 21st 2008

If it had been friendly, she would have just nailed him

That would have been awesome.

St,D, I think they needed to have those lapses in judgment much more often. Like on Jim's bed in Email Surveillance! Damn kids - their judgment was much too good for their own happiness!!

I'm awfully glad I didn't have a mouthful of coffee when I read that, or I'd be wiping it off my screen right now!

Just in case, you might want to invest in a splash guard.

Their level of self-control was superhuman.

Jan 21st 2008

Their level of self-control was superhuman.

And look where it got them! Reason and impulse control are seriously overrated, but you don't figure that out until you hit your 40s. Try telling that to these kids today, though!

Well, a little judgement is always nice, but only in moderate doses. They were like Buddhist monks.

This was the quote from my calendar yesterday:

Just tell me what the bathroom wall said....I'm not asking you to talk about what you do in there, just what's written about Michael.....All right, I'll talk. Just nod if I get it right. Was it about his butt or his wiener?

Still just kills me.

Jul 2nd 2008

Yeah, I was laughing when I read that one, too, VG! My calendar makes me happy in the morning when I don't want to be at work.

Jul 7th 2008

I always save my "calendar read" for the interminable time waiting for my PC to boot up in the morning.

Jul 7th 2008

I know me, too. Sometimes I forget that I didn't read it yet until the afternoon when the day is dragging on, so then it's like I'm getting a bonus gift or something.

I'm scared for my boss to read today's quote.

I haven't had to hide my Office Calendar yet, but last year when I had The Onion, there were some headlines that were not work-appropriate.

And Michael is right. It's uncomfortable to tuck. So I imagine it must also be uncomfortable to be a woman.
