I only bothered to watch the american version because Rainn was going to be on it, and I loved him in Six Feet Under. I know it's all over, but I can't believe nobody mentioned it here.

The only other one I will bother mentioning in the same breath with those two shows is our dearly departed Arrested Development.

The Colbert Report -I love Stephen Colbert... he is my hero. The Daily Show Scrubs - sometimes SIx Feet Under - I used to have HBO when the first two seasons were on. Now I am catching up on the rest of the series on DVD. House - occasionally

Ooh I also like Futurama.

Yes! The Colbert Report and the Daily Show are awesome. I wish I had cable. Damn you Cox for being so expensive!!

What About Brian is on the fall schedule-same time, Monday nights on abc.

I just noticed that "Prison Break" is available for download on iTunes. I'm thinking about firing up a new obsession this summer while "The Office" is on summer break. Would you recommend "Prison Break" or should I go check out DVDs somewhere and go with another show?

May 17th 2006

Hey Loaded Teapot, my roommate and I started watching Prison Break accidentally one night and then religiously every week. It's pretty suspenseful, and a bit of a thinker too. I would definitely recommend watching it if you don't mind paying for it from iTunes. Besides Scrubs and the Office, it's the only show I have a weekly standing appointment with.

May 17th 2006

Each and every summer, beginning in July and ending in September, I have a standing appointment to watch Big Brother on CBS. Other than the episodes shown on television three nights per week, what's so great about it is that for about $30 bucks, you can subscribe to the Live Internet Feeds through Real.com and see and hear everything that is going on behind the scenes. So much fun! It's the only show, other than The Office, that I really enjoy. I highly recommend it as a diversion to combat the frustration of "The Office is on hiatus," syndrome.

May 17th 2006

Lori, I hate reality tv, but my one exception has been Big Brother. While I haven't seen all the seasons, I did watch last year and really liked Kaysar. I was rooting for him to go all the way. I thought they weren't going to have a 7th season, but it sounds like I'm wrong. Is there confirmation of this?

May 17th 2006

JAMtastic,

Yes, Big Brother will be on again this summer. From what I've heard, there have been some new twists and revisions made to the show. The viewers will have a hand in the voting, this season. I'm not sure how it all works out, but I'm anxious for BB to start. I thought Kaysar was great, too. He had a hookah!

Up until I got hooked on The Office, How I Met Your Mother was my favorite show on tv.

From here on out:

  • The Office
  • How I Met Your Mother
  • Glenn Beck
  • CSI
  • CSI: Miami
  • CSI: NY
  • Survivor
  • American Idol
  • My Name is Earl

Aside from The Office, I don't watch TV... Except for occasional episodes of Ghost Hunters with my Mom. Those guys are so ridiculous, but lovable.

Well, this Weds. is the finale of Lost, so for two weeks, I'll have nothing to watch (except old Office and Scrubs episodes). But then it is time for World Cup. I can't wait! Best sports event ever.

But then it is time for World Cup. I can't wait! Best sports event ever.

One would think that working for a professional soccer team, I'd have the same feelings. But I don't. I understand the passion, I really do... I just can't watch soccer on TV.

May 23rd 2006

Well I'm finally bummed out, seeing that every show I watch have had their finale (a la season finale of 24 last night AND series finale of Alias, which I know wasn't so great anymore but I finished the series out of loyalty, and it rocked!) Which btw, what a way to end Season 5 of 24. 24 fans, the finale KICKED SOME ASS! And this is from tvguide's watercooler blog of 24. As #6 in her 24 questions left unanswered:

  1. Why didn't Agent Pierce follow Jim Halpert's lead and just kiss the girl, damn it?

That was pretty much the most awesome comment EVER! Our Jim Halpert is setting the tone in every couple! It even applies to our favorite secret service agent and the First Lady. Long Live Agent Pierce! (And ditto for Jack after watching the ending)

Because engaged ain't married, I guess. And Mike Novick was standing right there. That's pretty cool, though!

Poor Jack. On a slow boat to China.

Well last night was the season finale of Lost. It took them nearly 20 episodes to make a good Lost episode and then they kept knocking them out of the park.

That said, the Lost finale was the best episode of Lost, ever. It had everything, answers (yay!) and questions (yummy!).

So, to the Lost creators (reading a Office forum), I commend them. They had me doubting Lost and not wanting to really watch it, but they've hooked me again.

When I saw the fragment of the giant statue, the only thing I could think was "Ever see a foot with four toes?"

May 29th 2006

Entertainment Weekly reported in its latest issue that "What About Brian" has been picked up by ABC for the new TV season. Hurray! Can't wait to see how this open marriage thing pans out...Seriously, I really like the show, and I'm glad to see that someone somewhere at some network realizes that good programs can find an audience.

In news of other new (maybe) obsessions, I just got the Season 1 DVD of "Arrested Development." I've never seen it but have heard only glowing things about it, so I'll be starting my marathon sometime later this week.

I just got that last week! I was hooked straight away, and watched the whole lot in around 4 days. I'm on season 2 now... You'll love it!

AD was my favorite show when it was still on (all apologies to The Office), but now it's gone thanks to Fox being...well, Fox (see "Futurama", "Andy Richter Controls The Universe", etc). I think the last season was uneven compared to the best of the first and second season, but overall the series breathed new life into scripted TV comedy at a time when not a lot was going on creatively. I hope the show is not forgotten anytime soon.

May 29th 2006

AD is great.
And I know I am late getting on board, but I just started watching Lost. My husband and I just watched the first two disks of Season 1, I'm hooked. And I seriously have been dreaming about it every night. It's the first time in awhile I haven't had dreams about Casino Night.

May 30th 2006

A show that I'm watching right now..basically because there's nothing else on...is Last Comic Standing. Why is this back on the air?

At least that annoying Jay Mohr isn't back hosting it. Otherwise, it would just be like getting your teeth pulled with no novacaine...and Jay Mohr telling the same jokes over and over as this is going on.

God, I can't wait for September

I am a huge "Lost" fan too, Stella. It's been kind of frustrating this year, but I have faith that the writers DO have a Big Plan and it's just being revealed...very slowly, but it is being revealed. I don't have any big theories about what's going on, just that for some reason I think it's something very obvious that millions of us just aren't getting (sounds hard to believe, I know, but it worked for The Sixth Sense - I don't mean that's what's going on here, I just mean that it's obviously not impossible to create something and have the solution to the big mystery be out in plain sight, and people still might not see it). Anyway, enjoy it! The season 2 finale of that show was very good, too.

AD was AWESOME. Loved it. Especially GOB and the George Michael and Maeby "romance." It's quite unfortunate that the show has come to an end. I rather enjoyed the fast paced style and subtle puns. I like shows like AD and The Office where you really have to pay attention and watch each episode two or three times for bits and pieces you may have missed the first time around. Like The Office, I watched AD faithfully every week and couldn't understand why the entire country wasn't watching such an intelligent comedy.

I'm looking for an excellent tv series to purchase on DVD and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me. I've seen Arrested Development, and I don't think I would be interested in Lost, 24, Prison Break, or Scrubs. Any other ideas, for me? Thanks!

Entourage?

It's an HBO series and is kind of like Sex and the City but with guys, IMO. I love it, but that might just be me...

Curb Your Enthusiasm is another one I'd suggest. Phenomenal show.

How could you not be interested in Scrubs? Second best comedy on television!

May 31st 2006

Buy the Futurama DVDs. If you like The Simpsons, you'll love Futurama. I do anyway...

Any one else love Sports Night? Teriffic show; sorely missed. Sorkin/Schlamme magic pre-West Wing. Awesome cast.
