For all you Project Runway fans out there, I just had to share this blog with you:
FourFour

Every week on Monday Rich posts a recap of the previous week's episode, and it is hilarious. If you read the recap from today you just have to listen to the audio clip "Justify my continued Presence in this Competition" about Vincent.

Aug 21st 2006

CZJ Thanks! That was hilarious! I loved the whole "Why don't you stick some Harry Winston's up your nose!" What was that? Vincent is nuts. I will be reading this site regularly.

Aug 21st 2006

No problem, PurseGirl. It was so good, I just couldn't keep it to myself. And yes, Vincent is a kook.

Aug 22nd 2006

Has anyone seen It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia?

I'm a little late with this comment, but I love that show! I only started watching it over the summer so there are a few episodes I haven't seen, but it's hilarious. Just don't watch it if you're easily offended, because it's not politically correct at all. Wonderful :P

Aug 29th 2006

HBO is running When The Levees Broke a Spike Lee documentary on Hurrricane Katrina. I saw it last week. It was really honest and worth the 4 hours to watch. It's on at 9pm tonight. Initially, it was broken up in two nights but they are running all of it tonight.

Is anyone else watching "Eureka" on the SciFi Channel? I am not usually a SciFi fan. You know that person at the Star Trek movies who is always whispering, "Who is that blue alien guy? Wasn't he in the beginning? Is he a bad guy? Why is he eating that other guy's face? Are they traveling through time?" Well, that person asking all the annoying questions is me, so you can see that I don't often watch SciFi. Anyhoo, I'm liking "Eureka" a lot. I like the quirky music, and it seems to have a bit of a sense of humor about itself, which is what "X-Files" was sometimes lacking (I was an "X-Files" watcher, too, but not a rabid fan).

I want to say again, too, that you should watch the reruns of Psych on USA. Their mini-season is over and will resume in January, so now's a good time to check it out. I dislike almost every character on it (they're exaggerated, cranky, skeptical, and unpleasant), but the main character, Shawn (James Roday), is a gem and makes up for the rest of the stereotypical characters, so that speaks volumes about how likable he is. I hope that in the next season they refine the secondary characters somewhat, but even in the meantime, it's well worth TiVo space.

LT: I've got some Psychs lined up on my Moxi (to Tivo like Prism DS is to iPod?); caught one eps & liked it. Also getting into Saved, which I like even better. Tom E. Scott's character is almost as likeable as our Jim. He's Jim with warts.

Aug 30th 2006

I really like Psych, too. I was talking to my uncle like 2 weeks ago about it and he had seen it from the beginning. I was thinking I had missed a lot of the show, but it was only on for a few episodes. You can get it from itunes, too.

CZJ Did you see Project Runway last week? Wow! Vincent won and Jeffrey was such a jerk. Also, Laura is pregnant with #6?! Almost too much info to digest. About to watch this weeks new episode. I can't be any crazier than last week.

Aug 30th 2006

PurseGirl, yes i did see it! Can you believe how out of line Jeffrey was?? I loved Laura's comment about throwing baby no. 6 on the pile with the rest. Too funny. I have to wait and download the episode tomorrow since I'm too poor to have cable, but I'm really excited. Did you read the post over at FourFour? I couldn't stop laughing at the photoshopped picture of Joan and Michael Kors.

p.s. I can't believe Vincent won...I thought he would have been auf'd by the third week.

Aug 30th 2006

CZJ This week wasn't as crazy as last week but the challenge is cool. And just off hand, I love the way Heidi says "Uli". Don't know why. I still love Michael and Kayne.

Aug 31st 2006

CZJ- Let's just say that this week, Jeffrey wasn't any more in line. I think you'll like the episode. I know I did.

Aug 31st 2006

Thanks 2CTC, you just reminded me I need to download that! I can't believe I forgot!

Aug 31st 2006

Ok, I just finished watching Project Runway, and wow. That French designer was harsh, though I do agree with Jeffrey that Kayne looked like Liberace. I wish I was in Paris!!!

Aug 31st 2006

CZJ

Poor Kayne! Yes, she was harsh. Poor Angela! Now she has to fly all the way back! You know Jeffery loved that!

Aug 31st 2006

I watched "Justice" last night. It's good. I thought I was at my limit with courtroom procedurals, but apparently not. And it has Mr. Andrews from Titanic in it (I know he was in "Alias," but I never watched that, so he'll always be Mr. Andrews to me. Poor guy. He should have designed thos watertight doors to go all the way to the top...).

Sep 1st 2006

Project Runway: I'm so hooked. As for those still left, I should hate Jeffrey more than I do. I mean, he can be such an ass, and mean. But I can't quite totally despise him. No doubts about Michael though...he's the man. He's my pick.

Sep 1st 2006

garbagethrower, I feel exactly the same way about Jeffrey. He's a complete jerk, and yet I still want him to beat the other people, except for Michael. Maybe it's just that as bad as he is, he can't be as bad as Wendy from season one.

Today was the season premiere of HOUSE. Boy, was I excited. Something about Hugh Laurie always gives me the tingles.

Today was the season premiere of HOUSE. Boy, was I excited. Something about Hugh Laurie always gives me the tingles.

I agree, CountryCrock. I thought there were already too many medical shows on TV, that this was like the others, that I was already watching enough TV (well, this last one is probably true). Then my sister (who watches almost no TV) introduced me to "House," and I really like it. Another show that I only (very) recently discovered, so I have a lot of reruns to watch on USA - hurray! And you're right about Hugh Laurie, too. I watched the premiere last night, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

Sep 6th 2006

As am I! I'm a little disappointed though, that House is becoming more sympathetic and less of his cynical self. I really do prefer House with a cane. But what do I know, it's only the Season Premiere.

Sep 7th 2006

I think they'll get him back to his cranky, semi-nasty self soon. They're already on their way - he did tell that woman that she should put her disabled husband into a facility where he, inevitably, would die, and she could get on with her life (I'm paraphrasing, but that's basically what he said, and he didn't say it nicely). Plus, when he called out the female doctor (I forget her name) and told her she used to have a crush on him only because he used to be a "wounded puppy" and she wanted to nurse him back to health...well, it was harsh, but it was spot-on, I think. Who knew viewers could have soft spots for pretty unlikable characters? First Michael Scott, now Dr. House...God help me.

Sep 7th 2006

So, besides the obvious, what is everyone going to watch this fall? Here is my list:

Simpsons - I've been watching since it started so it's habit by now. Lost a bit of its edge but still good.

American Dad - This show is up and down but good for a couple laugh out loud moments an episode.

Family Guy - Was my all-time favorite until The Office came along. Last season was a little disappointing, hopefully it rebounds.

Studio 60 on Sunset Strip - The hype has sucked me in so I'll check it out. Really like the cast, especially Amanda Peet, D.L. Hughley, and Matthew Perry.

Friday Night Lights - Love football, loved the book, loved the movie. Hope it's not too much teen drama. Same director as the movie which should be a good thing.

Real Time with Bill Maher - I've been a fan of Maher since he had his Politically Incorrect show on Comedy Central.

Las Vegas - Guilty pleasure. Last season it started going from silly and cheesy but fun to just silly and cheesy. I may drop this one if it continues like that.

Project Runway

spoiler

Well, Vincent has packed up his glue and gone home. The guy was so off the wall I may actually miss him. Second thought—no. He tended to get off on too many things. Nice to see Laura scared once in a while. She does have a healthy ego, doesn't she? I do like her and her style though for the most part. But didn't really enjoy the baby view this week. Nothing screams "I'm not fat, I'm pregnant" like a bare midriff after the first trimester.

Sep 7th 2006

Is is just me or did Laura start to show like, overnight?

Sep 7th 2006

I thought the same thing (did I miss a few episodes? No...)

I've got a love/hate thing going with a lot of the contestants left...Jeffrey, Laura, Kayne (still love him but lately have sorta hated his designs.) Still a big Michael fan. I'm thinking Uli & Michael at the end...could be Jeffrey & Michael. Thanks for the blog link—hilarious!

Sep 8th 2006 edited

I hate to say it, but I think Kayne may be the next to go. But of the other four, I really couldn't say who would be in the top 3.

I about lost it when I saw Michael Kors' "bling" this week over at FourFour. That was so funny.

Sep 8th 2006

Ah, Project Runway. How I love thee!

As for the rest of Sept., I'm looking forward to Studio 60 and became a Lost addict this summer so will be watching that. Will probably Tivo Las Vegas too -- definitely cheesy but there is no way I can keep up with that show on Fridays without my Tivo. I got that thing in May and have no idea what I would do without it. I may also try 30 Rock but am a little worried now that they put Jane Krakowski in and pretty much booted Rachel Dratch to the sidelines. Ugh.

And is anyone else going to be watching Dancing with the Stars? Season premiere is Tuesday and I'll be one of the idiots watching.

Sep 10th 2006

Anyone watch BB7: Allstars? It's the only reality show I watch and I loved it this summer. Will and Janelle had me in stitches - the guy's ego is humongous, and he's a master manipulator, but I still think he's funny and hugely entertaining.

I didn't want Boogie or Erika to end up in the final two, so I really couldn't care less about who takes home the money...but this season's allstars sure made an Office-less summer, tolerable.

My kids are totally into "Pee-Wee's Playhouse," which is on the Cartoon Network at midnight. I TiVo it so we always have an episode available, since it's one of the very few things to hold their attention. It's pretty trippy and definitely not something I would probably watch on my own, but the inside jokes and adult-friendly humor (cleverly disguised so as not to offend, of course) are hysterical. The other day, Jimmy Smits was on as a neighborhood repairman who came over to fix Pee Wee's robot (no, I'm not speaking metaphorically). At the end, he gave us all a reminder that whenever you need something fixed, it's always best to call a certified repairman because "they always have the right tools" [pause...and he gives a pointed look to the doe-eyed female character standing next to him] "and they know how to use them." I almost cried I was laughing so hard - it was totally unexpected.

Just a warning, though, that if you're going to watch it with kids, you'll probably want to do it with the remote in your hand. Since it's part of Adult Swim, the commercials are wildly inappropriate, so I fast-forward through them at the halfway mark. I just don't want my kids watching a cartoon character smoke a joint. But that's just me.
