The PNW doesn't have nearly as many semis as New York State does, and was slower to adopt them as a means of mass transport. In fact, you could say that the PNW is semi-retarded.
I remember when I was a kid there was a big ballot measure push to outlas three-car semis in Oregon. Can't remember if it passed. I think it must have -- never see them on the roads.
"Semi" is in fairly common usage in the PNW.
How do you folks generally prounounce "semi?" Sem-EE or Sem-EYE?

Nope, didn't pass. UPS and FedEx pull three-trailer loads on the freeways here all the time. Kinda like your moms.
I feel a little skeevy for admitting it for some reason, but I'm liking Tosh.O lately. And we're watching his stand-up routine on Comedy Central right now, and I'm laughing quite a bit.
Hey LT, I have caught a few Tosh.O as well and have enjoyed it as well. I always forget when it's on, but they replay it enough that I still catch it.
You know what I've been watchng and enjoying? Archer. That show's very amusing.
Sepinwall has mentioned that show, but I still have no concept of what it's about.
Office politics in a spy organiztion, which the head spy's mom runs. They have a complex, hate-filled relationship. Archer's ex-girlfriend is another spy there. He also has a taste for whores and has an inflated sense of self-importance. It had a nice touch of absurdity. Voice actors include H. Jon Benjamin, Jessica Walter, and Judy Greer.
I saw both Archer and Tosh.0 this week. We call Tosh.0 "Josh 2.0". I've also been watching Pawn Stars. Chum Lee is the worst.
Did anyone else watch Undercover Boss last night? I thought it was fantastic.
I caught the last half of it after we got home from watching the game but had a tape rolling to catch the whole thing. It was quite good.
Hopefully (but doubtfully) it'll cause more CEO's to sit up and take notice as to what their "ideas" or "policies" do to the little guy, good or bad.
I watched it, too, and really liked it. I hope every week is as good as last night's episode. The COO of Waste Management reminded me of David Wallace, both in looks and demeanor.
Next week's episode should be interesting. I hope that scum manager they showed in the preview gets fired.

I know at our store sometimes they'll play games to decide who's gonna get cut first, but I don't recall any of the waitresses complaining about them being over-the-line and/or overtly sexist. Usually it's more physical stuff like relay races and the like from what I've seen while in there. They try to make it fun, but not degrading.
I will laugh, however, if they play a certain KISS song during that segment..
MISS: I was up in your neck of the woods last Wednesday. We thought the Janesville Hooters' trivia night was that night so three of us from my team went up to see about some fresh competition and a different game. Turns out they hold it on Tuesday. Whoops. Guess we'll try again tomorrow if the weather isn't too terrible.
Undercover Boss
I liked it, too. The boss is a cool guy. Yes, very David Wallace (pre-noontime bathrobe), MISS. I also caught my first Pawn Stars, 2C. Fun show. The owner's laugh is amusing bordering on annoying. Antiques Roadshow in a used car lot is the vibe I get.
My favorite new show this year is Men of a Certain Age. Man, I love so much about what that show chooses to be.

I was waiting for someone else to admit this first so I could jump on the bandwagon. I was concerned with Ray Romano as one of the leads because of his previous show, but he's turned out to be a pretty good character here.
Last night I watched an episode of Hoarders that was probably the Super Bowl of Hoarders. The woman they profiled, Augustine, had a house like none I have ever seen. Ever. She hasn't had water, gas, heat, or appliances for six years. Her house didn't just have piles of junk, like most of the hoarders who just have too much stuff. She was living among garbage, literally. Garbage. Piles of it, everywhere. Plus...wait for it....they pulled the flattened, fossilized, dried carcasses of two dead cats from underneath some of the piles of garbage. She didn't even know they were there or how long they had been there. They should have bulldozed her house. It was that bad. On top of it, Augustine came across as a lazy, nasty, ungrateful person with a huge sense of entitlement. She sat on her porch while other people used shovels to clean out her house. I still don't understand why Adult Protective Services wasn't called in. This woman clearly had a big, big disconnect; no emotion at all, didn't say thank you to people, didn't see what the big deal was, was nasty to her adult daughter....I kept waiting for the narrator to tell us about the big mental breakdown that must have occurred a few years before, but no one said anything, although by her daughter's account she used to be "normal." I just don't see how.
It inspired me to get out of bed at 10:45 just to put away the laundry just because I was so dismayed by the mess I saw in her house. I wanted to do something.
Why can't I quit you HIMYM? Not only do you not make me laugh anymore, you barely make me smile. And yet I keep watching.

Mr. A and I were interested in this show then forgot to watch it. What network is it on?
(Never end a sentence with a preposition under.)

Really? I thought the last few episodes were fantastic, especially last weeks. Of course I'm partial because it's the only show I've ever watched from the very first episode. I usually pick up shows three or four seasons in and have to play catch up. They just picked up sixth season too.
What network is it on?
Yes, it's TNT, Anque.
I watched another recorded ep last night. Crazy good. I first watched because Andre Braugher was in it. But the big surprise has been Ray Romano. I only caught snips of his show over the years and his voice can be really annoying but the man shows 15 different sides to this character. I hope people discover the show because I want more episodes.
I love Ray Romano and always loved his show. King of Queens, too, so bite me, haters. Now I want to check this out, even more so because of Aundre Braugher.
